An airframe with dramatic history lands at Memphis International from Detroit. In 1994, a disgruntled pilot, who was jumpseating, attempted to hijack N306FE while en route to SJC from MEM. The heroic actions of the crew prevented this from happening and the aircraft successfully returned to Memphis.
Delivered to Garuda Indonesia in 1991, N742FD spent time with several arilines before coming to FedEx in 2007.
FedEx MD10 N68049 in Memphis, Tennessee. Originally delivered to Continental Airlines as a DC-10-10 in February 1974, it was converted to cargo in May 1981 for Federal Express. FedEx converted it to an MD-10-10F in December 2003. In April 2016, the tri-jet went to the retirement home in Victorville. California. In 2023, it was broken up and scrapped.
With one of the more unique names in the FedEx fleet, N725FD, Zebradedra, is parked on the Memphis ramp on a rainy day.

In need of some purple paint on the tail, FedEx A310-300 N813FD taxis onto the maintenance ramp at Memphis International Airport. This aircraft was first delivered to Singapore Airlines as 9V-STR in August 1989. It was retired to Victorville, California, in March on 2014.

It's August 7, 2003, and this FedEx tri-jet is still a DC-10-10F. N368FE is seen here in Memphis and is ex-United Airlines N1807U. In Feb 2020 it was removed from service and stored at Victorville, California.
At Memphis International the right winglet of FedEx MD11 N574FE is being replaced. The McDonnell Douglas tri-jet first flew for Gauruda Indonesia in 1991. To FedEx in 2005.
A GE CF6-80C2B6F on N101FE It is the first Boeing 767-300F delivered to FedEx. The aircraft , fresh from Everett, Washington, is parked inside Hangar 26 at Memphis International Airport. September 2013.
