Originally delivered to American Airlines as a DC-10 in February 1979, FedEx MD-10 also flew for Hawaiian Airlines briefly. Here, the McDonnell Douglas tri-jet is seen on the company ramp at Memphis getting de-iced in February 2006. The airframe was retired to Victorville (VCV) in 2009.

N157FE is in Memphis on the FedEx ramp, empty and ready for the afternoon outbound freight.

Departing Phoenix, AZ on March 6, 2014. This plane originally destined for JAT Yugoslav Airlines (to be YU-AME), but never delivered back in 1992. To American Airlines instead as N1768D where it operated until 1997. To FDX in October of that year after freighter conversion, and still active.

 

"S/N" is the aircraft's serial number. "L/N" is a Boeing code denoting what order the airframe came off the production line. "F/N" refers to an individual airline's fleet numbering system. Not all airlines use a fleet number; not all manufacturers use a line number.
