The Rotterdam Marathon, currently branded NN Rotterdam Marathon, is an annual marathon that has been held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands since 1981. Life in the fast lane. Every time I am in the city I always can feel the energy from everyone in a fast paced lifestyle. The night this photo was made it was particularly nice out in Chicago and more people were out and about than usual. Always an interesting time.
You can imagine speed in this picture - rather artistic effect caused by point, shoot and hope technique... The purpose of me borrowing my wife's camera was to capture an image of a Routemaster as the type was fast disappearing from the streets of London. This one on Route 14 had a matter of weeks left in service.
This was a fast fix.
First, get the water boiling and get the pasta going according to the box directions. I like spirals and other "texture" pastas so it will hold the sauce on better.
For the sauce, dump all these in a blender and puree:
1/2 cup olive oil
2 clove garlic
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 bunch flat leaf parsley
pepper to taste
When the pasta is done and drained, you just stir the pesto in.
I liked it as a nice change from basil pesto, Julia (5 yrs old) did not care for it, and Paul hasn't tried it yet.
