Being artistic means you can be either very traditional or really out there. Today I'm happy being both. Does that make sense?

Second generation Hi-speed passenger ferry operated by Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries pictured arriving at the island's arrival point Ryde Pier Head. FAST CAT Ryde with her sister FAST CAT Shanklin proved popular craft and operated up to the arrival of the company's latest craft in 2009.

This is how a fast shutterspeed (above x-sync time) would look like. I used an old Praktica MTL3 as example.

A "fast ferry" (catamaran) getting ready for its 1.5-hour cruise back to Boston from MacMillan Wharf in P'town. On this day, Jackie, Tim, Linda, and I drove to P'town, but when Linda and I came here by ourselves last May (and other times), this is the ferry we took.
'Nutkin', now almost fully grown, at Forest How, Eskdale. A month ago, he carried a hazelnut up into a tree. For half an hour, on and off, I could hear her trying to open it. No such problems now!
I ordered a scanner from Amazon yesterday, and when it arrives I'll rescan this, but for now here's the photo.
So...yes, it's the beginning of a strip, in draft form. The perspective sucks hard in a few frames (in the second to last frame it's terrible - I think that left arm is about eight feet long), in the first one though, I'm proud of it.
The only time we see Bowler's face, in frame four, he looks a bit like Russ H, for those of you who know him...that was NOT intentional.
Honest.
This is all intro - the comic I have in mind is a lot more active (headline - CRIME WAVE!!!oneone)...but this is the first time I've laid anything out, and I love it. Not the result, necessarily, but the storytelling scope. It's a lot of fun to play with.
'Too damn much too damn soon' is right. My drawing ability is nowhere near ready for this, but aiming above where I'm comfortable is teaching me a lot.
Sadly if you view the large version of this, it's on its side. Sorry.
This was taken at the Miami MetroZoo, Florida. The focus is a little soft (they move fast) but I still love the picture. When I am out and about, I take my Leica and my Nikon D300, and I never know which camera I will use until I choose my subject. I think I have the best of both worlds.
Taken in Africa, these cheetah's were taking an afternoon shower. I was using a wide angle lens here and these cheetah's were only about 5 feet away. I had to out run them for over 100 meters back to the truck to avoid being eaten. Seriously these were really taken in Africa, well the section of the Kansas City Zoo called Africa.
