Wenn man vom Schmiechursprung (623m) in Springen über Gundershofen nach Hütten wandert, hat man eine Hüttentour gemacht ;-)
Wir sind dann das Bärental hoch nach Ingstetten, in der Hoffnung auf Alpensicht, weil eigentlich hieß die Wanderung "Alpenpanoramarundweg"
Dies hier war der dritte Versuch. Wenigstens hatten wir dieses mal fast keinen Nebel :)))
A trip back to Sept 2018 when we were 'hobos' temporarily, having sold our house in Bedfordshire with a two week gap before our new home in Alnwick was available.
Our final 3 or 4 'hobo' days were spent near Penrith on the edge of the Lake District within easy reach of Ullswater, seen here on a blowy day with a sky full of scudding clouds.
I love the calm that a cat exudes! A little bit of this could do each of us good to slow down the day sometimes!
This little figure reminded me of George Michael so in honour of him I've named it after one of his songs. :)

Double-crested Cormorants are fast flyers and I'm usually lousy at capturing fast flyers. However, I had a bit of luck with this one as it flew by in Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Utah.
But even with 1/1250 shutter speed, there's still a bit of wing motion blur. Yep, that's a fast flyer.
Another installment from our recent three-state journey.
I'm still on a quest to catch one of these little welcome swallows at the moment it dips into the water. I'm slowly getting closer! I still haven't figured out whether they are just having a quick dip to bathe or are just grabbing a very quick drink. Either way, it is very entertaining to sit and watch them.

These old and now unused mooring points tell a story of a busier port with fishing vessels and traditions now long gone. For me they are a reminder of things we have lost. Still standing strong is the Forth Bridge her usefulness remains thankfully
A few months ago I was walking in a forest near the Naarderlake when I heard a lot of rustling going on around me. And then suddenly I saw a large group of bank voles running around, the first time that I ever saw that sort of spectacle.
But goodness how fast they were and how unpredictable. They popped up everywhere, but also they hid under leaves, went into little holes in the ground, and came up in a completely different place.
I felt like a predator not knowing were to look or on what animal to focus so most of the shots I took were awful. This is the only shot that more or less is acceptable. But what a treat it was to observe them!
Einen ordentlichen Freischnitt würde dem Motiv wahrscheinlich guttun, allerdings geht es so ja auch. Nur um die Stelle zu erreichen, muss man sich durch das Unterholz quälen. Das taten wir für 232 609, welche mit dem EZ 51617 durch das Pegnitztal kam. Hier überfährt sie gerade die Pegnitz, um Sekunden später in den Vogelherdtunnel einzufahren. Im Hintergrund die idyllische Ortschafft Enzendorf.

A male mountain bluebird crouches and spreads his wings in preparation for flying off the post. It gives a hop and a flap at the same time to get launched. It all happens so fast, the next frame in a high speed burst showed the bird well off the post.
Diese niedliche Rötelmaus (Myodes glareolus) entdeckte ich unter einer Zwergmispel. Sie war dabei die herunter gefallenen roten Beeren zu fressen. Man kann fast sagen sie hatte ein festliches Mahl und lies sich dabei auch nicht stören.
Wie fast jeden Samstag fuhr auch am 12.09 2020 die SWEG mit paar Schotterwagen diesmal Fans nach Ottenhöfen.
