Transport for Wales Class 153 Nos. 153906 & 153323 pass Tilstone Bank, running parallel to the Shropshire Union Canal with a Chester to Crewe service on 2nd May 2022.
A composite of two images taken a couple of minutes apart.
Charging through the Michigan farmland at track speed, a pair of Lima-built, 2-8-4 "Berkshire" Locomotives take a long, fast freight southeast toward the City of Detroit, just over 100 miles down the line.
This image was captured during an August 2009, Lerro Photography photo shoot on the Great Lakes Central Railroad, which featured the only two "Berks" that were operable at the time, those being Pere Marquette #1225, owned by the Steam Railroading Institute of Owosso, MI and Nickel Plate Road #765, owned by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society of Fort Wayne, IN. The pair are pictured eastbound with 31 freight cars in tow, passing a farm off North Upton Road in the town of Elsie, MI.

A mother swallow feeds her baby, in a frenetic and fast flight in which they are perfectly synchronized with a speed that is not noticeable to the human eye.
Summer now feels like it's on "fast forward" - days noticeably shorter, hints of Fall color in the trees and cool Fall fragrances come through, in between the waves of heat, in the air. This is a single, huge Common Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) with flowers showing all the bloom/life cycles.

The immediate post Conrail split years were busy times in Cumberland, MD. In this scene at Mexico tower, an eastbound manifest departs the yard behind patched C40-8 7490, while an AC6000 led westbound, likely a Q137 or Q217, waits at the signal on #1 track. Light power that came in on an eastbound manifest is on the PPG lead and staying out of everyone's way while another eastbound is waiting on #2 main west of the plant that will follow east on 7490's block.
