I always try to hold on to interesting or just different size #Bottles, cause you just never know when you need to mix up a potion or something... ya know! anyway, when this week's Flickr Friday was announced I just grabbed what was handy.
This image was taken in RAW and processed with Linux using RawTherapee.

It´s on the tip of your tongue I´m sure
But I must away
Must be good to know people
Who know so many people
Must be good to be somebody
Good to be somebody
They know
I liked the irony... the waitresses at this 'slow food movement' restaurant wore shirts that said FAST.
Another super yummy place for awesome Italian pizza... our favorite here is the margherita (just tomatoes, basil and fresh mozz).

Cats are aliens, I`m sure of it. Cute, vicious, furry purring delights maybe, but aliens all the same. I read it in a book when I was a kid ... well, ok, it was sci-fi, but that doesn`t mean it`s not true!
(Blinky`s eye is missing, but the socket seems to be healing ok. These are some of about a dozen cats that live in one house up my street.)
Trying to get into the Flickr rhythm. Hasn't quite happened yet. Maybe with practice and a faster interface with all things binary ... until then, most of my stuff is still going up on Fotolog. I'm really not sure what the site admins are doing these days but it's my first webfoto home and besides, i'm a creature of habit (some good, some crippling). But I want to give this Flickr thing a go. It's an entirely different animal.
Reminiscent of its last year of service on the N&W before retirement, J Class 611 hustles 12 cars of revenue freight on a deadhead move from Lynchburg, VA to Spencer, NC. Following the previous weekend's excursions out of Lynchburg, the passenger equipment was taken to Bristol, VA for excursions with the Southern 4501, necessitating freight cars to aid in braking so as to not wear out the brakes on the 611. This was the first revenue freight train powered by the 611 after its recent rebuild and it is seen here at Altavista, VA, heading south on the NS Danville District.
A richly patinated bronze statue in a typically heroic Art Deco pose graces a park below Dudley Castle. Loved the pose used here. So redolent of the era and beautifully executed.
Fast-life
Мы хотим получить от жизни всё и быстро. Хотя сами носим бумажные платья и за нашей душой нет ничего. Даже внутреннего мира.
We want to get everything out of life and quickly. Wear paper -dresses, but have nothing for our sou. Even the inner world.
Panned shot of BR Standard Class 9F 92212 as it catches the evening light while hauling its freight train towards Alresford on the Mid-Hants Railway. Seen near Bishop's Sutton during a Matt Allen and Warwick Falconer photo charter.
My fast primes - Canon 50mm f1.8 II (nifty fifty), Canon 50mm f1.4, Sigma 30mm f1.4, Sigma 28mm f1.8. I love all of these lenses, but I think my favorite is the Sigma 28mm (even with its noisy and slow autofocus!).

MARC inbound train 681 was ready to blast off for DC as Amtrak Acela 2248 came rocketing past. On Sundays, train 681 originates at the Martin State Airport stop in Middle River.
Martins is named after the Glenn L Martin company, where my grandfather worked across the street from the tracks on the B-26 Marauder project during WWII. It is now home to the Maryland Air National Guard's 175th Wing's Tactical Fighter Group which operates the A-10 Thunderbolt II from Warfield Air National Guard Base in Middle River.
While I was there, several Warthogs were heard powering up, but unfortunately did not take off. The Hogs are nice to see and hear when they head out on maneuvers.
You got a fast car
And I want a ticket to go anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere
Anyplace is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
But me myself I got nothing to prove
