The Renault Express was built between 1986 and 1999. It was the van version of the Renault Super 5. In some countries it was called Rapid or Extra as Ford had the rights fot the Express name there.
Providence and Worcester B40-8 #4004 pulls the second run of the day out of the station in Woonsocket, RI.
With only two more days worth of trips left in the season, the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council's Polar Express finally gets some appropriate weather. Unfortunately, the snow stopped after the first run of the day and turned into freezing rain. But, none the less still festive enough for the kids and their trip to the "North Pole".

By the time of this picture, taken in January 2014, life-expired withdrawals of National Express's 22 strong Optare Spectra fleet had already begun but they were still busy in the Wolverhampton area. 4012 arrives at Underhill which was a regular haunt of the type in the latter years. It would survive in service for just over another year.

For those not familiar, Galaxy Express 999 is an old-school anime series (based on a manga series by Leiji Matsumoto) that started airing in 1977. I'd been watching a few episodes on Crunchyroll which inspired me to build this vignette. The premise is that Tetsuro (the little boy) wants a mechanical body and Maetel is taking him to a place where he can get one "for free". They ride on the Galaxy Express 999 space train, and have (mis)adventures at pretty much every planet they stop at. This vignette is of yet another time when Tetsuro's train pass gets stolen and they have to get it back.

Since the advent of low cost digital photography, I've occasionally been moved to photgraph things the like of which I'd never have expended film upon.
This shot from 2011 is an example of such gay abandon, though the surrounding scene adds something to just another Optare Solo. That said, and a little more seriously, the operator, North Wales giant 'Express Motors' is no more and I believe this service is no more either ... or its a shadow even of its former sparse self. Express don 't often get good press, but they did at least have a livery rather than a lazy base white with possible stickers.
Here their Solo CY56 MRO enters Borth-y-Gest from Porthmadoc on its shortish journey to the holiday camps at Morfa Bychan. It will turn round in a few hundred yards to retrace its steps to the main road as there's no through route to the destination out of the village.
Express Motors CX04CVF is a Dennis Dart SLF with Transbus MPD bodywork. Seen in Bangor, CX04CVF was new to Jones of Bontnewydd.
WCRL 9124 brings up the rear on the Santa Express as the train passes the former West Chester University Station once more.
8369 (SN15LKD) is seen on the Bath Road Roundabout near Longford Village, approaching Heathrow Terminal 5. While working on BA5 shuttle between Waterside and T5, this is one of the brand new Enviro 200's that are being used by National Express on British Airways Staff Shuttles. (18/03/15)

05018 Kashi Express departs Gorakhpur Junction behind CNB WAP7 37103 while my 05003 Chauri Chaura Express gets the clearance to enter the station after a brief wait for the outgoing train to clear the North line coming from platform 9.
Clouds roll in and dusk starts to set in, but just enough light exists to shoot this day's rare excursion train on the Hakubi Line, the West Express Ginga.
Ginga, Japanese for Galaxy, is JR West's answer to luxury long distance travel. Introduced in 2020, the 6-car train is a rebuilt JR 117 Series, appointed with fine woods and astronomical theming inside each car, keeping with the "Ginga" theme. The train doubles as a sleeper, with some cars containing private compartments depending on class. They don't operate often, but when they do they traverse at a slower pace across western Japan, usually during the overnight hours.
On this day, the West Express Ginga trundles over the Hakubi Line south of Hoki. The train started in Izumo earlier this day and is on a slow overnight run towards their terminus at Kyoto, where they will arrive early next morning.

While poking around the Boston & Maine's North Billerica shops, a friend and I stumbled across this 50' boxcar. I haven't been able to locate any information other thana set of model decals with a vague description. It apparently painted in honor of the bicentennial of the constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

2013 made Itarsi (ET) WAP-4 # 22952 charging down with weekly 18610 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Ranchi Express for its next (technical) halt at Kasara through scenic Asangaon, Central Railway. This weekly express has RSA with 22845/22846 Hatia - Pune Superfast Express and has strange route to reach Ranchi. It takes longer route via Bhusaval - Itarsi - Jabalpur - Katni - Allahabad - Varanasi - Mughal Sarai - Gaya - Bokaro Steel City to reach Ranchi, ignoring shorter route of Bhusaval - Amravati - Nagpur - Raipur - Bilaspur - Rourkela to reach Ranchi. Notice the Asangaon bound train blocking the Up main line for time being till it departs as Mumbai CST bound train as this station does not have spare station.
