Ein Ausflug nach Wien
Alle, die keinen Urlaub machen können, mögen mich auf einer Runde durch Wien begleiten. Vorbei an den berühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten, aber vielleicht auch abseits Sehenswertes entdecken ...
Die Wiener Karlskirche, bedeutendstes sakrales Bauwerk des Barock in Wien, Kaiserliche Patronatskirche, 1716–1737 nach Plänen von Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach erbaut. Die Skulptur davor nennt sich Hill Arches und stammt vom Künstler Henry Moore.

Vienna's St Charles Church, most important sacral building of the Baroque era in Vienna, Imperial church, built in 1716-1737 to plans by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. The sculpture in front of it is called Hill Arches and is from the artist Henry Moore.

This nature sanctuary isn't as populated by dragonflies and damselflies as it has been, there are not many animals to be seen. I suppose this is due to us having the second dry summer in a row and many of the ponds there are dry.
Anyway on my last visit I discovered this beautiful blue-eyed lady who was a new one for me and my camera.
Female Scarlet darter.
Seen in the nature-sanctuary "Tister Bauernmoor" near Sittensen (between Bremen and Hamburg) - Niedersachsen - Germany.
Dieses Naturschutzgebiet ist nicht mehr so bevölkert von Libellen wie es war, es sind nicht viele Tiere zu sehen. Ich vermute das kommt davon, dass wir den zweiten trockenen Sommer nacheinander haben und viele Teiche dort ausgetrocknet sind.
Trotzdem konnte ich bei meinem letzten Besuch diese schöne blauäugige Dame entdecken, die für mich und meine Kamera neu war :-)

MEXICO, San Juan Chamula
Chamula liegt im Hochland von Chiapas auf einer Höhe von 2.200 Metern. Es wird von den einheimischen Tzotzil-Maya bewohnt , deren Tzotzil-Sprache eine der Mayasprachen ist .
Die Stadt genießt in Mexiko einen einzigartigen autonomen Status . Im Dorf sind weder Polizisten noch Militärangehörige zugelassen. Chamulas haben ihre eigene Polizei.
Das Fotografieren in der Stadt ist sehr schwierig, da Eltern ihre Kinder verstecken oder sich abwenden, sobald sie eine Kamera entdecken. Das Fotografieren innerhalb der Kirche ist strengstens untersagt, ebenso wie das Fotografieren der Weihnachtsprozession zur Kirche. Sie können Sie aus der Stadt werfen, wenn Sie versuchen, diese Regel zu verletzen.
The Chamula people have a very distinct culture. Most visibly, their religion, though considered Catholicism, is a blend of Christianity and Mayan traditions. Their main place of worship is the church of San Juan Chamula. If you get to know Chamulas a little more you might also witness some baffling features in their everyday life and value system: they have taken law into their own hands and sometimes use force to bring people to justice. At the same time you may find families who see children foremost as an economic burden or people who are willing to sell their children like some commodity not showing any emotional connection towards their children as they are making an offer to do so.

Macro Mondays - theme of August 25, 2019: "Goes together like" ... strings and a (violin) bow
The violin bow is a tensioned stick which has horse-tail hair affixed to it. There is no music without the bow moving across the strings to cause vibration - although some compositions do include 'pizzicato' (plucking) or 'col legno' (soft striking of the string with the stick of the bow); but it's 'mainly' a bowed string instrument, mind ;))
The golden bokeh is a LED string of lights shining through the bridge of my violin.

für Macro Mondays - Thema: Zwei Dinge, die zusammengehören
... hier: Saiten und ein (Geigen-) Bogen
Der Bogen ist bei Streichinstrumenten ein mit Pferdehaaren bespannter Hartholzstab, mit dem die Saiten und in der Folge auch der Korpus des Instruments in Schwingung versetzt und damit zum Klingen gebracht werden.
Einige Kompositionen enthalten zwar auch das 'Pizzicato' (Zupfen der Saiten) oder 'Col legno' (leichtes "Schlagen" der Saiten mit der hölzernen Stange des Bogens) als Spieltechnik - aber insgesamt bleibt es dann doch ein Streichinstrument ;))
Das goldene Bokeh stammt von einer Lichterkette, die durch den Geigen-Steg hindurchscheint.

The Horseshoe Canyon, formerly known as Barrier Canyon, is in a remote area west of the Green River and since 1971 part of a detached unit of Canyonlands National Park.
The hike to this canyon was one of the biggest experiences of my trips to the southwestern United States.
Almost 1.5 hours before sunrise, I started with a headlamp from the rim to experience the more than 2,000-year-old petroglyphs from the Barrier time in the first light (if our photos in 2000 years still exist ???).
This "picture" is officially called Horseshoe Shelter or Horseshoe Gallery, located on the northern canyon wall, not to be confused with the more popular Great Gallery in the same canyon.
Der Horseshoe Canyon (früher bekannt als Barrier Canyon) liegt in einem abgelegenen Gebiet westlich des Green River und gehört seit 1971 zum Canyonlands National Park.
Die Wanderung in diesen abgelegenen Canyon war für mich eine der größten Erlebnisse meiner Reisen in den Südwesten der USA.
Fast 1,5 Stunden vor Sonnenaufgang startete ich mit Stirnlampe vom Rim aus, um die mehr als 2000 Jahre alten Felszeichnungen aus der Barrier Zeit im ersten Tageslicht zu erleben (ob es unsere Fotos in 2000 Jahren auch noch gibt???).
Dieses "Bild" wird offiziell Horseshoe Shelter oder Horseshoe Gallery genannt, liegt an der nördlichen Canyonwand, nicht mit der bekannteren Great Gallery im gleichen Canyon zu verwechseln.

Die im 13. Jahrhundert erbaute Burg liegt in der Nähe von Bruck an der Mur in der Steiermark.
Es gibt eine Greifvogelschau, die bei unserem Besuch allerdings nicht stattfand, statt dessen nahmen wir an einer Führung zu den Greifvögeln teil.
In Neuberg an der Mürz gibt es eine Glasmanufaktur, deren Werke in der Gegend oftmals zu entdecken sind. Auch hier bei der Burg fielen mir gleich die schönen Glasvögel ins Auge.

The castle, built in the 13th century, is located near Bruck an der Mur in Styria.
There is a bird of prey show, but this was not taking place during our visit, instead we took part in a guided tour of the birds of prey.
In Neuberg an der Mürz there is a glass manufactory whose works can often be discovered in the area. Here at the castle, too, the beautiful glass birds immediately caught my eye.

Die griechisch-orthodoxe Kirche am Fleischmarkt im 1. Bezirk ist die Kathedrale der griechisch-orthodoxen Metropolis Österreichs im ehemaligen Griechenviertel. 1782 erstmals zu einer Kirche umgebaut, bekam das Gebäude erst 1861 das in byzanthinischem Stil gehaltene Aussehen mit Turm und Kuppel.
Neben der Kirche ist das 'Griechenbeisl' zu sehen – was es mit dem 'lieben Augustin' dort auf sich hat, erzähle ich Euch beim nächsten Foto von Wien ...

The Greek Orthodox Church on Fleischmarkt in the 1st district is the cathedral of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Austria in the former Greek Quarter. First converted into a church in 1782, it was not until 1861 that the building was given its Byzantine-style appearance with tower and dome.
Next to the church you can see the 'Griechenbeisl' ('Greek Pub') - I'll tell you about the 'dear Augustin' there in the next photo of Vienna ...

... am Hohen Markt in der Wiener Innenstadt. Die Ankeruhr ist eine brückenartige Verbindung von 10 Metern Länge zwischen zwei Gebäuden. Diese Spieluhr im Jugendstil ist eine Touristenattraktion. Sie wurde 1914 erstmals in Betrieb genommen. Jede Stunde wandern historische Persönlichkeiten vorbei und zur vollen Stunde ertönt ein Stundenschlag. Um 12 Uhr ziehen alle Figuren vorbei, jeweils begleitet von einem passenden Musikstück, früher aus Orgelpfeifen, heute als digitale Tonwiedergabe. Auf meinem Foto sieht man Kaiserin Maria Theresia und Franz Stephan von Lothringen.

... at the Hoher Markt in the centre of Vienna. The Anker (anchor) clock is a bridge-like connection of 10 metres between two buildings. This Art Nouveau style music clock is a tourist attraction. It was first put into operation in 1914. Every hour historical figures pass by and at the exact hour a chime sounds. At 12 o'clock, all the figures pass by, each accompanied by a suitable piece of music, formerly from organ pipes, today as digital sound reproduction. In my photo you can see Empress Maria Theresa and Franz Stephan of Lorraine.

Just in time for the beginning of spring, I was able to capture the first butterfly macro of 2024 on the sensor. For a few days they have been flying conspicuously around the flower meadow with daffodils, squills (Blue asterisk aka Scilla) and grape hyacinths and do not let you get close to them. Things are different early in the morning because they are not yet able to fly...and if you're lucky enough to discover them by chance, which I've never managed to do so early.
Pünktlich zum Frühlingsanfang konnte ich das erste Schmetterlingsmakro 2024 auf den Sensor bannen. Seit einigen Tagen fliegen sie auffällig auf der Blumenwiese mit Narzissen, Blausternchen und Traubenhyazinthen herum und lassen einen nicht in ihre Nähe kommen. Das ist morgens früh anders, weil sie dann noch nicht flugfähig sind...und wenn man Glück hat, sie zufällig zu entdecken, was mir so früh bislang noch nie gelungen ist.
USA Southwest Classic at the Gran Staircase Escalante National Monument, not far from Spencer Flat and Old Sheffield Road. There are no signs, but you can find the coordinates on the internet. So go there with GPS only, otherwise you will hardly find the location at the end of a long hike. You can only see the volcano when you stand directly in front of it.
In front of my location, it is about three meters down to get to the sand dune in the volcano.
USA-Südwest Klassiker im Gran Staircase Escalante National Monument irgendwo unweit der Spencer Flat und Old Sheffield Road. Es gibt keine Hinweisschilder, aber im Internet findet man die Koordinaten. Also nur mit GPS dort hingehen, sonst wird man die Location am Ende einer langen Wanderung kaum finden. Man sieht den Vulkan erst, wenn man direkt davor steht.
Vor meinem Standort geht es noch ungefähr drei Meter nach unten, bis man an die Sanddüne im Vulkan gelangt.

Yesterday, when I found this photograph from a shooting made in 2019 with my princess on my computer, I spontaneously had the urgent need to change my focus rapidly. To do that, I didn’t have to do anything but to look at my wonderful daughter.
Happyness, love, harmony, the wish to explore the world and really to live, to have lustily and loud laughing until the entire body is aching and You can't breath anymore or simply by remaining in a close hug assimilating the closeness with the other. This and so much more is, what she is radiating for me, on every single day.
Life is beautiful. Beautiful and precious. To live with each other and for each other no matter what is written in the news. Thank you Lilly.
Graues Herbstwetter, düstere Aussichten und in allen Medien jagd eine Horrormeldung die nächste. Rassismus, Extremismus, Klimaapokalypse oder der Zusammenbruch des Gesundheitssystems. Unter dem geht nichts mehr.
Als ich gestern dieses Foto von einem shooting von 2019 mit meiner Prinzessin auf dem Computer gefunden habe, hatte ich spontan das dringende Bedürfnis den Fokus drastisch zu verändern. Und dafür brauche ich nichts anderes tun als meine wundervolle Tochter anzusehen.
Freude, Liebe, Harmonie, der Wunsch die Welt zu entdecken und wirklich zu leben, herzhaftes und lautes Lachen bis der ganze Körper schmerzt und du nicht mehr atmen kannst oder einfach in einer innigen Umarmung verharren und die Nähe des Anderen in sich aufnehmen. Das alles und noch so viel mehr strahlt sie für mich aus, an jedem einzelnen Tag.
Das Leben ist schön. Schön und wertvoll. Das Leben miteinander und für einander. Ganz gleich, was in der Zeitung steht. Danke Lilly.
