Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness Study Area is a little known region of fantastic eroded rocks in the high desert of northwest New Mexico.
After hours of hiking in the sweltering heat, I discovered a lot of completely untouched nature in complete solitude, a perfect place for meditation.

MEXICO, San Juan Chamula
Chamula liegt im Hochland von Chiapas auf einer Höhe von 2.200 Metern. Es wird von den einheimischen Tzotzil-Maya bewohnt , deren Tzotzil-Sprache eine der Mayasprachen ist .
Die Stadt genießt in Mexiko einen einzigartigen autonomen Status . Im Dorf sind weder Polizisten noch Militärangehörige zugelassen. Chamulas haben ihre eigene Polizei.
Das Fotografieren in der Stadt ist sehr schwierig, da Eltern ihre Kinder verstecken oder sich abwenden, sobald sie eine Kamera entdecken. Das Fotografieren innerhalb der Kirche ist strengstens untersagt, ebenso wie das Fotografieren der Weihnachtsprozession zur Kirche. Sie können Sie aus der Stadt werfen, wenn Sie versuchen, diese Regel zu verletzen.
The Chamula people have a very distinct culture. Most visibly, their religion, though considered Catholicism, is a blend of Christianity and Mayan traditions. Their main place of worship is the church of San Juan Chamula. If you get to know Chamulas a little more you might also witness some baffling features in their everyday life and value system: they have taken law into their own hands and sometimes use force to bring people to justice. At the same time you may find families who see children foremost as an economic burden or people who are willing to sell their children like some commodity not showing any emotional connection towards their children as they are making an offer to do so.
Afternoon light over the Old Paria Badlands (Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument)—an extremely colorful landscape that served as a film set for Westerns many years ago. Unfortunately, the remains of the former Old Paria Townsite and the Old Paria Movie Set are now a thing of the past (having burned down).
In the background, one can see the distinctive Castle Rock, rising to the left of Cottonwood Canyon Road on the way to Escalante.
Nachmittagslicht über den Old Paria Badlands (Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument), eine extrem farbenfrohe Landschaft, die vor etlichen Jahren als Filmkulisse für Western diente. Leider sind die Reste der ehemaligen Old Pareah Townsite und des Old Paria Movie Set Vergangenheit (abgebrannt).
Im Hintergrund sieht man den markanten Castle Rock, der sich links der Cottonwood Canyon Road auf dem Weg nach Escalante erhebt.

Der Grünfink ist gut getarnt. Obwohl er laut ruft, ist er zwischen den Blättern schwer zu entdecken.
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch Anklicken gehen viele Details verloren.

Dieses Bild entstand am vergangenen Sonntag auf einer Fototour, die es wirklich in sich hatte! Eigentlich war ich schon zu spät dran, dafür das ich ein paar neue Stellen erkunden wollte. Doch der Himmel verhieß während der Anfahrt und des Aufstiegs noch keinerlei Atmosphäre. Es war grau und Regen lag in der Luft.
Doch glücklicherweise wurde mein zwischenzeitliches Stoßgebet an den Wettergott erhört und es wurde ein Sonnenuntergang wie ich ihn noch nie erlebt habe. Regen, Sonne, Dramatische Wolken und als i-Tüpfelchen noch ein Regenbogen. Bei all diesen Eindrücken wusste ich gar nicht, was ich zuerst fotografieren sollte und wie man diesen Moment am besten in einem Bild festhält. Also machte ich einfach ein 180° Panorama ;). Diese Stimmung war einfach magisch und sie ließ mich mehrfach aufjauchzen vor Freude und dem Glück das ich bei dieser Tour hatte =)!
Ich wünsche euch allen noch einen schönen Abend und ich danke euch für die vielen lieben Kommentare unter meinen Bildern und den "Sternchen" die ihr diesen gebt! Danke :)!

Zum ersten Mal in Lyon und die Stadt abends entdecken. Was für ein tolles Gebäude man hier zu sehen bekommt. Klassik trifft
Moderne. Die Glaskuppel wurde passend zum Gebäude als Dach aufgesetzt.

… auch Danubiusbrunnen genannt, befindet sich an der Augustinerbastei am Albertinaplatz. Seine Enthüllung war am 24. Dezember 1869. Seine Skulpturen stellen die Stadt Wien (Vindobona), den Donaustrom (Danubius) und verschiedene andere Flüsse, wie den Inn, die Save, Drau, Theiß, Mur, Salzach, March, Raab, Enns und die Traun dar.

Its sculptures represent the city of Vienna (Vindobona), the Danube River (Danubius) and various other rivers, such as the Inn, the Sava, Drava, Tisza, Mur, Salzach, March, Raab, Enns and Traun.

Das Salzamt war früher eine Behörde, die den Salzabbau und dessen Handel verwaltete. Seit über 200 Jahren gibt es diese Behörde allerdings nicht mehr. Geblieben ist aber die Redewendung, "Beschwere dich doch beim Salzamt" - also bei diesem nicht mehr existierenden Amt, womit die Aussichtslosigkeit von vornherein klar ist !! 😂 Heute gibt es noch ein Lokal namens Salzamt am Ruprechtsplatz.

The salt authority used to be an authority that administered salt mining and its trade. This authority has no longer existed for over 200 years, in fact. What has remained is the saying, "Why don't you complain to the Salt Authority" - i.e. to this no longer existing authority, where the hopelessness is clear from the outset !! 😂 Today there is still a locality called 'Salzamt' on Ruprechtsplatz.

We have made today equal times a New Year's walk through Berlin's center. Past the Red City Hall, where the Christmas market Ferris wheel still turns, further "Unter den Linden" to the "Tiergarten" and back to the Suburban train station „Friedrichstraße“. The small about 5 kilometers long City Walk was nevertheless very relaxing. Since it was just wonderful to watch the many tourists and to discover his own city times again.

Wir haben heute gleich mal einen Neujahrs Spaziergang durch Berlins Mitte gemacht. Vorbei am Roten Rathaus, wo sich immer noch das Weihnachtsmarkt Riesenrad dreht, weiter „Unter den Linden“ bis zum „Tiergarten“ und zurück zum S-Bahnhof Friedrichstraße. Der kleine etwa 5 Kilometer lange City Walk war doch sehr entspannend. Da es einfach herrlich war, die vielen Touristen zu beobachten und seine eigene Stadt mal wieder zu entdecken.

Die Hofburg zu Wien war jahrhundertelang die Residenz der Habsburger. Seit 1946 ist sie der Amtssitz des Österreichischen Bundespräsidenten. Sie beherbergt auch die Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, einige Museen und das Bundesdenkmalamt.
Am Michaelerplatz befinden sich am jeweiligen Ende des Michaelertrakts ein Brunnen. Links unten zu sehen der Brunnen mit dem Namen "Die Macht zur See". Rechts oben zu sehen der Brunnen mit dem Namen "Die Macht zu Lande".

The Hofburg in Vienna was the residence of the Habsburgs for centuries. Since 1946 it has been the official residence of the Austrian Federal President. It also houses the Austrian National Library, several museums and the Federal Monuments Office.
On the central plaza Michaelerplatz, there is a fountain at each end of the Michaelertrakt. At the bottom left you can see the fountain with the name "The Power at Sea". The fountain with the name "The Power on Land" can be seen at the top right.
The Zollern colliery in Dortmund is one of the most beautiful testimonies to Germany's industrial past. An icon of industrial culture made of steel and glass is the machine hall with the stained-glass Art Nouveau portal. La Palma is an island of volcanoes. In particular, the southern half of the island with the so-called Cumbre Vieja is characterized by young volcanoes.
The picture was taken on the upper crater rim of the youngest volcano Teneguia (eruption in 1971) with a view to the north on the volcano San Antonio (eruption 1677).
The panorama of 8 vertical images also shows the weather phenomena of the island of La Palma, mostly cloudy in the east, but mostly sunny in the west.

La Palma ist eine Insel der Vulkane. Insbesondere die Südhälfte der Insel mit der sogenannten Cumbre Vieja ist geprägt von jungen Vulkanen.
Das Bild entstand auf dem oberen Kraterrand des jüngsten Vulkans Teneguia (Ausbruch im Jahr 1971) mit Blick Richtung Norden auf den Vulkan San Antonio (Ausbruch 1677).
Das Panorama aus 8 vertikalen Bildern zeigt auch die Wetterphänomene der Insel La Palma, im Osten meist bewölkt, im Westen dagegen meist sonnig.

They still exist, these wonderfully blooming poppy meadows and fields. Sometimes discovering them is just a coincidence, like this one, because you could see it shining in the sun from almost 10 kilometers away.
Es gibt sie noch, diese herrlich blühenden Mohnwiesen und Felder. Manchmal ist es einfach Zufall, sie zu entdecken wie dieses hier, denn man konnte es von fast 10 Kilometer Entfernung in der Sonne leuchten sehen.
