When we take a closer look at this beautiful snail shell we can see here a whole universe. And it’s not only the ultimativ Fibonacci Form that is present everywhere around us. We find rugged landscapes, high mountains and flat plateaus in most beautiful colours. Who ever saw photos from other galaxies can see how similar they look. Not to forget this subject is uniting three of the themes we had in the last year.
Schaut wir uns dieses wunderschöne Schneckenhaus aus der Nähe an können wir ein ganzes Universum entdecken. Und es ist nicht nur die ultimative Fibonacci Form die überall um uns herum präsent ist. Wir finden zerklüftete Landschaften, hohe Berge und flache Ebenen in den schönsten Farben. Wer schon einmal Bilder anderer Galaxien gesehen hat, wird erkennen, wie ähnlich diese aussehen. Nicht zuletzt vereint dieses Motiv gleich drei der Themen aus dem vergangenen Jahr.

A relatively little-visited location a few miles south of Moab and below the La Sal Mountains. The rock needle is about 20 meters high.
Eine relativ wenig besuchte Location wenige Meilen südlich von Moab und unterhalb der La Sal Mountains. Die Felsnadel ist ca. 20 Meter hoch.
Ein wildromantisches Seitental der Mosel, wunderschön zum Wandern mit Wasserfall, Mühlen, klammartigenSchieferfelsen und einem schmalen Pfad, neben dem man Moose, Baumpilze, Farne oder auch mal eine Teufelskralle entdecken kann.

Another deep access to the archive:
From the Burr Trail you can reach the Strike Valley Overlook via a dirt road. From there you have a fantastic view of the Waterpocket Fold and Notom Bullfrog Road, which meanders down through the valley from Capitol Reef NP to Lake Powell.
Later in the evening I set up my tent in complete solitude below the viewpoint and admired the starry sky, a beautiful memory.

Vom Burr Trail erreicht man über eine Piste den Strike Valley Overlook. Von dort hat man einen fantastischen Ausblick auf die Waterpocket Fold und die Notom Bullfrog Road, die sich unten durch das Tal vom Capitol Reef NP bis zum Lake Powell schlängelt.
Später am Abend habe ich dann unterhalb des Aussichtspunktes in völliger Einsamkeit mein Zelt aufgeschlagen und den Sternenhimmel bewundert, eine schöne Erinnerung.

Das Gebäude aus dem Jahre 1868 dient für Ausstellungen von Malerei, Bildhauerei, Architektur und angewandte Kunst. Wegen Reovierungsarbeiten war es mehrere Jahre geschlossen. Im Mai 2020 eröffnete die 'Albertina modern', ein Museum für Gegenwartskunst mit 60.000 Werken ihre Ausstellung im Erd- und Untergeschoß.

The building, which dates from 1868, is used for exhibitions of painting, sculpture, architecture and applied arts. It was closed for several years due to renovation work. In May 2020, the 'Albertina modern', a museum for contemporary art with 60,000 works, opened its exhibition on the ground floor and basement.
Over 3000 m above sea level lakes between Telluride and Ophir Pass.

Die Teichrallen am Mühlgraben haben Nachwuchs. Leider habe ich nur ein Küken entdecken können. Mehr Küken wäre besser weil die Teichrallen seit 2006 auf der Liste der Vorwarnstufe für gefährdete Arten in Deutschland geführt werden. Das Küken ist bereits ein paar Tage alt, der Eizahn ist schon nicht mehr zu sehen. Dafür sieht man den blauen Augenstreif und wie der Schnabel beginnt sich rot zu verfärben. Fliegen kann das Kleine noch nicht, wie man an den Stummelflügeln erkennt. Ich drücke dem Winzling die Daumen, dass er es ins Erwachsenenleben schafft.
Technisch war an dem Foto herausfordernd, dass es gegen 18 Uhr im engen und steilen Graben schon sehr dunkel ist. Ich habe mit einer 1/100s fotografiert und von fünf Fotos die ich machen konnte, bevor das Küken abgehauen ist, ist nur eine Aufnahme ist scharf geworden. Ich hätte auch gerne einen tieferen Aufnahmestandort eingenommen aber ich kniete schon inmitten von zeckenverseuchten Brennesseln. Meine Leidensfähigkeit für ein Foto hat Grenzen... 😋
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch Anklicken gehen euch viele Details verloren.
The moorhens at the Mühlgraben (mill ditch) have offspring. Unfortunately, I was only able to discover one chick. More chicks would be better because moorhens have been on the early warning list for endangered species in Germany since 2006. The chick is already a few days old, the egg tooth is no longer visible. Instead you can see the blue eye stripe and the beak begins to turn red. The little one can't fly yet, as you can see from the stubby wings. I keep my fingers crossed that the little one makes it into adult life.
Regarding the technical aspect I found it challenging about the photo that it was already very dark in the ditch by 6 p.m. I was shooting at 1/100s and out of five photos I was able to take before the chick ran off, only one shot came out sharp. I also would have liked to have taken a lower recording position, but I was already kneeling amid tick-infestet stinging nettles. My capacity for suffering for a photo has limits...😋

Experience mining and culture in the Castle of Work
The Zollern colliery in Dortmund is one of the most beautiful testimonies of the industrial past in Germany. The water from the 25 springs ( I have not counted ) falls into a pool to flow off from there in a Levada. It is a wonderfully peaceful place when you're in front of the many visitors there.
Das Wasser aus den 25 Quellen (ich habe nicht nachgezählt) fällt in einen Tümpel, um von dort weiter in eine Levada abzufliessen. Es ist ein herrlich ruhiger Ort, wenn man vor den vielen Besuchern dort ist.

In beautiful Maissau (Amethyst Adventure World) you can discover the world's largest uncovered amethyst vein! There is a show tunnel that you can visit with a guide and learn interesting facts about the origin and importance of this precious stone. There is also a gemstone museum with a shop, a treasure trove, a gold washing plant and the amethyst park.

Im schönen Maissau (Amethyst-Erlebniswelt) gibt`s den größten freigelegten Bänderamethystgang der Welt zu entdecken! Es gibt einen Schaustollen den man mit Führung besichtigen kann und dabei Wissenswertes über die Entstehung und Bedeutung dieses Edelsteins erfährt. Weiters findet man hier ein Edelsteinmuseum mit Shop, ein Schatzgräberfeld, eine Goldwaschanlage und den Amethystpark.

The Vienna City Park has an area of 65,000 m² and delights tourists and locals alike as a recreational area.
After yesterdays short excursion to the poppy field (don't worry, there is more to come), we are going back to my garden today. A lot more things can be discovered here and these are not only blossoms and flowers. Here, You see the young shoots of a spruce freeing themselfes from their sheathing. In fact this is something very unremarkable but beautiful with a closer look. For photographing them, You need some patience. Even with a minimum of wind the branches are moving continiously what makes it quite complicated to focus.
Nach dem kurzen Abstecher auf‘s Mohnfeld von gestern (keine Angst es kommt noch mehr davon) geht es heute zurück in meinem Garten. Dort gibt es noch viel zu entdecken und das sind nicht nur die vielen Blumen und Blüten. Hier sehr Ihr die jungen Triebe einer Fichte, die sich gerade aus ihrer Ummantelung befreien. Eigentlich etwas sehr unscheinbares und doch bei genauerem Hinsehen wunderschön. Sie zu fotografieren erfordert allerdings einiges an Geduld. Schon bei minimalem Wind bewegen sich die Zweige ununterbrochen hin und her, was das fokussieren ziemlich erschwert.

Das Denkmal zu Ehren Johann Wolfgang von Goethes wurde 1900 enthüllt und befindet sich an der Ecke Operngasse und Goethegasse. Gegenüber ist der Schillerplatz mit dem Schillerdenkmal.

The monument in honour of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was unveiled in 1900 and is located on the corner of Operngasse and Goethegasse. Opposite is Schiller Square with the Schiller Monument.

Cleopatra`s Needle
Ein Hauch von Ägypten auf der grünen Insel. Es scheint als wäre hier an jeder Ecke eine Besonderheit zu entdecken, man muss nur die Augen offen halten. Was aber auf Dauer ganz schön anstrengend ist, wenn auch lohnenswert.
A touch of Egypt on the Emerald Isle. It seems that at every turn a feature to discover, you just have to keep your eyes open. But what in the long run is quite exhausting, albeit worthwhile.

The picture shows an overview of the entire location. The Sidestep Canyon is located in the upper middle of the picture just before the brighter rock face. There you can also find the striated hoodoos, see picture *Sidestep Canyon*.
The higher plateau in the background is the eastern boundary of the Wahweep Valley.
Im Bild ein Überblick auf die gesamte Location. Der Sidestep Canyon befindet sich in der oberen Bildmitte unmittelbar vor der helleren Felswand. Dort sind auch die quergestreiften Hoodoos zu finden, siehe Bild *Sidestep Canyon*.
Das höhere Plateau ganz im Hintergrund ist die östliche Begrenzung des Wahweep Tales.

Der Blankensee im Naturpark Nuthe-Nieplitz (Brandenburg) ist ein wertvolles Naturparadies, geprägt von Moor-, Wiesen- und Wasserlandschaften. Besonders eindrucksvoll ist der barrierefreie Bohlensteg, der Besuchern einmalige Einblicke in die artenreiche Umgebung bietet und sich hervorragend zur Vogelbeobachtung eignet – unter anderem lassen sich Fischadler, Seeadler, Haubentaucher und Teichrohrsänger entdecken.
Der See selbst ist ein typischer Glazialsee, entstanden während der letzten Eiszeit vor rund 10.000 bis 15.000 Jahren, als sich das abschmelzende Inlandeis Rinnen und Senken in der Landschaft hinterließ. Diese füllten sich mit Wasser und formten so den Blankensee als Teil der feuchten Nuthe-Nieplitz-Niederung südlich von Berlin.
Blankensee in the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park (Brandenburg) is a valuable natural paradise, characterized by moorlands, meadows, and aquatic landscapes. Particularly impressive is the accessible boardwalk, which offers visitors unique insights into the diverse surroundings and is ideal for birdwatching – among the species you might spot are ospreys, white-tailed eagles, great crested grebes, and reed warblers.
The lake itself is a typical glacial lake, formed during the last Ice Age around 10,000 to 15,000 years ago, when the retreating inland ice left behind channels and depressions in the landscape. These filled with water, creating Blankensee as part of the moist Nuthe-Nieplitz lowlands south of Berlin.
