The edges of these Florence engineered flooring boards meet squarely creating a uniform, smooth surface that blends the floor together from board to board. The overall look of this floor gives a contemporary flair and formal feeling to the room.
The engineered floors are prefinished with a very durable satin lacquer which leaves the floor with an even sheen that gently reflects the light. The lacquer also gives great protection to the hardwood itself and allows for easier cleaning and maintenance.
The family grade of this hardwood shows the true excellent appearance of the wood.

Inspired by this Moleskinerie thread, and especially by Bill Chance's recommendation, I ordered a Rothco M-51 Engineer's Field Bag, in black. (More detail on the product is here.)
On the thread I wrote, "I use my very much lived-in fanny pack for knocking about town, but I switch to a backpack for air travel. Although the backpack combines requisite roominess with a carry-on-friendly size, it's a bit too clunky for my tastes. I'll see if I do better with the field bag."
When it came, I took a silver Sharpie to it so that it "matches" my luggage, shown here. It's a bit bulkier with my camera case inside it, but it still closes, and will take its maiden voyage later this week when I go to Readercon.

The tumble dryer broke at the laundrette. Ie, it was only blowing cold air, so i brought my semi-dry washing home.
Then i realised I have no way to dry it.
So i fished out my trusty Mammut climbing rope, and strung it across my flat.

WWI Arcadian crested china candleholder ' Royal Engineers '
stands a whopping 5 cm tall
During the WWI period commemorative china was popular among the lower middle classes and upper working classes in the UK.
This Arcadian candleholder carries the Arms of the Royal Engineers with the motto of the RE ' Honi soit qui mal y pense ' and their battle honour ' Ubique ' [ Latin for 'everywhere' ].

What better way than to spend the fishing opener weekend by running full size trains! In yet another shameless self promotion I am seen here at the controls of a Burlington Northern SD-9 #6234 running a passenger train for our museum tourist operations out of Osceola, Wisconsin.
