“POST IT UP!” - International Urban Art Exhibition 2011
Exhibition of posters, stickers, stencils, sketches, prints, canvas, toys, decks, vynils, photos and more...
--------------------------
--------------------------
-------------------
[ENG]
...Even if winter is freezin' us cold with his breath,
"Post it Up" will be warm enough. Thanks to the new
artworks by artists from all over the world.
You are all invited to the third edition of this event,
giving you the chance to see the real urban art coming
from different places and cultures!
The artworks all contain different meaning
but share the common ground of placing art in the public realm without looking for monetary gain.
You will enjoy the expressions of the contemporary art in unexpected forms,
with live performances found only at cutting edge venues for contemporary art.
The artist showing their works and those in attendance are friends of not only our project in Italy but offer a selection of the best emerging talent in the street art world today.
The raw essence of the streets and the artist generosity and friendliness in sharing their works with the public in their countries, as well as now in Italy enthusiastically participate with the only purpose to share their feelings, their sensations, their nonsense, their logic, and their techniques.
We are proud to say that their artworks are meant to share the art itself and their heart as well.
Even the artists whose works have come from all over the world, sometimes to distant for themselves to attend, will be with us through the spirit of their masterpieces.
A truly valid award for the artists will be your presence to this free event and extraordinary exhibition to held the 26th of February, 2011 19:00h at "L@P Asilo 31" - Firenze Street, 1 - Benevento (campania) - Italy.

[ITA]

Siaoyoukeng Recreation Area, Yangmingshan National Park, Taipei City, Taiwan

[ENG] The Chestnut forest of El Tiemblo (Ávila, Spain) it is a small forest of municipal property placed to approximately 1.100 m. of altitude in the header of the Reservation of Iruelas's Valley, to approximately 100 km from Madrid. It is the most extensive chestnut forest of the Central System, and on the autumnal station -the most showy and colouring- its paths are crossed by numerous visitors. Along the route we will be able to observe different species of trees and shrubs that they accompany on the chestnut-tree or form a part of the undergrowth of the chestnut forest (white hawthorn, hazel, elm of mountain, cherry, willows, holly, alder-tree, birch, heathers, ferns...). A section of the path passes parallel to the creek of the throat of the Yedra (Ivy), with it waters down all the year round and with a row of alder-trees that forming a small forest of gallery they wind close to the creek. With luck we can contemplate some species of birds of forest character (mocking-bird, blue climber, blackbird, thrush...).

Friday 20 July 2012: Rest day featuring the Funivie Monte Bianco up to Pointe Helbronner (3,466 m) (actually Rifugio Torino Nuovo at 3,375 m) and Courmayeur (1,224 m) and finishing up with a fine meal in Planpincieux (1,593 m)
Day 7 of our Tour du Mont Blanc, on Exodus' Mont Blanc Circuit trip - a clockwise circumambulation of the Mont Blanc massif
Vicki, Hazel and I opted to get up early and head up to Pointe Helbronner (3,466 m). We successfully caught the Savda bus from right outside the Camping Grandes Jorasses down to La Palud, and whilst we were ahead of the crowds on the Funivie Monte Bianco cable car, our plan to cross the Vallée Blanche to the Aiguille du Midi was thwarted by major repairs being carried out on the Télécabine Panoramic Mont-Blanc, so we opted for the shorter hop up to Rifugio Torino.
At 34€ the tickets were Not Cheap, but the stunning views from the various viewpoints made it worth every €, and all 200+ steps up from the Rifugio Torino Vecchio (3,335 m) to Rifugio Torino Nuovo (3,375 m): to the east (and a tad north) Aiguille Noire de Peuterey and Les Dames Anglaises, Mont Maudit and Monte Bianco; to the south, Gran Paradiso and Grivola and more ahead, to the west the Dente Del Gigante (Dent du Géant), Aiguille de Rochefort, Grandes Jorasses, Grand Combin, Cervino (aka the Matterhorn), Mont Vélan and Monte Rosa, and to the north and closer by our feet the blankets of snow and glaciers.
Mont Blanc itself remained elusive however, keeping a shroud of cloud despite our best efforts to wish it away (and making no appearance on the information panoramas either!). The only (other) fly in the ointment were the construction works taking place to build a new cable car station above Pointe Helbronner. The building site looked terribly precarious teetering above us, and sent down small avalanches of scree.
After a good few hours (and lots and lots of photos), we took the cable car down to the Pavillon du Mont Fréty (2,173 m) where the air was warmer and we pottered around the Giardino Alpino Saussurea which provided photos and names of many of the flowers we'd seen so far.
There our luck ended as we just missed the once-an-hour bus from La Palud to Courmayeur and the walk along the main road proved longer and hotter than hoped. Still, once in Courmayeur we armed ourselves with an icecream from the gelateria yogurteria on Piazza Brocherel and having (quickly) explored the town, we settled at a pavement cafe for a light lunch.
Courmayeur clearly caters for the well heeled, and we were there at lunchtime shutdown, so with no shopping opportunities to keep us in town we caught the bus back to base to potter the rest of the afternoon away. For dinner, we headed down en masse to Planpincieux to eat at the Chalet Proment. An excellent suggestion from Simon and Ben (who ate there too, and booked us a table) - tasty local dishes, a good choice of wine and lovely waiters.

mütiges Völklein im Takt der Pfeiferweise. Ursprünglich waren es erwachsene Menschen;
Rodt in seiner
Stadtgeschichte.
1.9.2.6. Aus verkehrstechnischen Gründen musste er 1.9.1.9 verschoben werden.

[ENG] The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordova is one of the most unique monuments in the world. The Islamic architecture, with Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine echoes, merges with the Christian one of the most beautiful expressions. The greatness of its history begins in the 6th century with a Visigoth basilica, overflowing in the Caliphate splendor, and culminates with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque art. It was declared a National Monument in 1882, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, and an Exceptional Universal Value Well in 2014. More photos in the album Mosque-Cathedral of Cordova

The little window you see on the right of the picture seems part of the church, but it isn't. It's the suite "Il Coretto" of the Bed and Breakfast Antico Monastero di Anacapri, a B&B located in the former monastery of San Michele. Annexed to the church, the monastery was suppressed during the Napoleonic Wars and subsequently became a private residence. The B&B Monastery occupies the oldest part, and the suite "The Coretto" (that means "little choir") is even in what was the nuns' choir, for this is surprisingly incorporated into the church. [ENG] The Jardins de Metis, also known as Reford Gardens, they are a few gardens of English style placed in Grand-Métis, Québec, Canada. They were opened for the public in 1962, in 1995 they were declared as Historical National Place and in 2013 as Patrimonial Site, and they are recognized internationally as an exceptional work of art of gardening. They are the fruit of the work of the passionate one, Elsie Reford, that between 1926 and 1958 transformed his fishing camp into a private paradise. Approximately 3.000 species and varieties of plants are distributed in approximately fifteen gardens. Works of contemporary art sow the route and they join with harmony the historical gardens. Every year celebrates the "International Garden Festival" in that they show contemporary gardens created by architects, landscape painters and artists of international reputation.
