Perch Rock Lighthouse, New Brighton, England. by Karl Agre

Built in 1830 and inactivated in 1973. Thanks to volunteers the lighthouse has been restored and reactivated in 2015.

The tapered granite tower is 94 feet tall and designed to imitate the famous Eddystone lighthouse located off of Plymouth, England. The light signal is 2 white flashes followed by a red flash.

The name Perch Rock is taken from tripod platforms, or perches, which carried a fire as early as 1683 at this site.

Located along the shore on the west side of entrance to the Mersey river estuary in New Brighton.
