Eng wurde es an der Ausfahrt des HSM. War der Tw 102 doch das längste Fahrzeug welches das Gelände verlassen hat. Beim ersten Versuch klappte es nicht, so dass am nächsten Tag ein neuer Versuch mit umgebauten Tieflader nötig war. Die Schweizer Flagge, das "Zielschild" Zürich und die getürkte Wagennummer 1021 sollten vom eigentlichen Transportgut ablenken.

Die Michaelskirche - Kirche Erlenbach im Simmental steht im Dorf Erlenbach im Simmental
im Berner Oberland im Kanton Bern der Schweiz.

Im Dorfzentrum von Erlenbach liegt die wunderschöne rund tausendjährige Kirche. Als
Baugruppe zusammen mit dem P.farrh.aus und der H.olzt.reppe wurde sind als national
bedeutsam eingestuft.

Im L.ausanner Kirchenverzeichnis von 1228 ist die Kirche Erlenbach als Arlinbach
zum ersten Mal urkundlich erwähnt. Wer für ihren baulichen Unterhalt sorgte ist
nirgends festgehalten.
Die erhaltenen Schriften berichten aber, dass bei den Kämpfe der F.reiherren von
W.eissenb.urg gegen das aufstrebende Bern auch das Kirchengut in Mitleidenschaft
gezogen wurde.
Als die Berner bis Erlenbach vordrangen, plünderten sie das Gotteshaus schonungslos.
In einem späteren Vergleich erklärten sie sich aber bereit, die gestohlenen K.elche und
Ausstattungsgegenstände wieder zurückzugeben. Dies bestätigte der P.riester am
7. D.ezember 1303 im ältesten erhaltenen Schriftstück über die Erlenbacher Pfarrei.
Der K.ampf gegen Bern brachte die Herren von W.eissenb.urg in so arge finanzielle Be-
drängnis, dass sie am 20. A.ugust 1330 den Kirchensatz von Erlenbach samt Patronat,
dem P.riesterh.aus mit dem dazugehörigen Land sowie zwei Gütern, genannt de
Kumme und in dem Wijer an das A.ugustinerk.loster I.nterlaken übergaben.
Bald brachte ein innerer Zerfall auch die I.nterlakner C.horherren in finanzielle Schwierig-
keiten. Der Kirchensatz von Erlenbach wurde dem Geschlecht B.randis verpfändet. Dank
der Hilfe des B.ischoffs von L.ausanne und Bern konnten die I.nterlakner 1369 für eine
Summe von 1060 Gulden lauteres goldes und rechter gewicht die Schuld abzahlen.
Das K.loster I.nterlaken scheint seinen Pflichten nachgekommen zu sein. Die Kirche be-
fand sich in einem baulich guten Zustand, was Abgeordnete des B.ischoff von L.ausanne
anlässlich einer Inspektionsreise 1416 - 1417 bestätigten.
Das Kirchenspiel zähle damals einschliesslich des D.iemtigtals 300 Haushaltungen
und war weitaus das grösste im Niedersimmental ( W.immis: 100 und O.berwil: 70 ).
Auch wirtschaftlich und politisch war Erlenbach das Zentrum der Talschaft. Sein M.arkt
genoss bereits im 15. Jahrhundert einen beachtlichen Ruf.
In der ersten Hälfte des 15. Jahrhunderts wurde die Kirche vorübergehend zur Baustelle.
Die Neugestaltung des ganzen Innenraums war geplant.
Weil das einfache Volk des Lesens noch nicht kundig war, sollten die Kirchenwände mit
einer belehrenden B.ilderfolge versehen werden. Um Architektur und W.andm.alerei in
Einklang zu bringen war eine neue Wandgliederung erforderlich.
Die R.undbogenf.ensterchen wurden durch rechteckige ersetzt, welche genau der Grösse
der geplanten Bilder entsprachen.
Kurz nach 1420 war der ganze K.irchenraum, S.chiff und C.hor mit den eindrücklichen
W.andb.ildern neu ausgeschmückt. Die christliche Heilslehre wurde packend und folge-
richtig dargestellt.
Die B.ilderwände liessen sich mit Leichtigkeit im religiösen Unterricht einsetzen. Rund
hundert Jahre nach ihrem Entstehen wurden die M.alereien im Zeichen der Reformation
zugetüncht.
Als der bischöfliche Abgesandte 1453 die Kirche inspizierte wurden einige Veränderungen
befohlen. Der T.urm erschien den Inspektoren zu bescheiden.
Bereits vor der Reformation im 15. Jahrhundert beunruhigte ein starker S.ittenzerfall die
bernische Obrigkeit. Nachdem sich die Stürme der Reformation gelegt hatten sollte mit
der Glaubenserneuerung auch das verlotterte sittliche Leben der B.urger wieder in
bessere B.ahnen gebracht werden.
Als Ersatz für das bisherige geistliche G.ericht des B.ischofs setzte das reformierte Bern
1529 in jedem Kirchenspiel ein C.horgericht ein. Die bernische Staatsverfassung von
1831 brachte eine Neuorganisation der Gemeinden.
Das C.horgericht hiess von nun an S.ittengericht. Die Arbeit wurde 1852 dem neugeschaf-
fene Kirchenvorstand übertragen, 1874 dem Kirchgemeinderat. Seit 1881 ist die S.itten-
p.olizei nicht mehr Sache der Kirchgemeinden.
Im blühenden H.exenwesen und Aberglauben zeugte von der mangelhaften religiösen
Bildung des Volkes. Nach e.inigen bescheidenen Vorstössen erschien 1628 die erste
gedruckte Landschulordnung.
Schulpflichtig waren alle 13- bis 14jährigen Kinder. Sie sollten in Schryben und Läsen
und in den puncten dess glaubens unterrichtet werden. Die Landschulordnung von
1675 schrieb vor, dass die E.ltern die K.inder früh - sobald sie imstande seien, zu be-
greifen - zur Schule schicken. Entlassen wurden sie erst, wenn sie die Fundamente
der wahren Religion beherrschten. Das Hauptanliegen der Schule lag somit vollständig
im religiösen Bereich.
In der Nacht vom 23. auf den 24. A.pril 1765 war in mithen des in dem dorf Erlenbach
gestandenen und von etwelchen Haushaltungen bewohnt gewesenen Schulhause,
ohnwissend wie, dergestalten Feür ausgebrochen.
Ausser der Kirche, dem P.frundhaus, zwei M.ühlen und fünf Häusern war alles übrige
durch den Dorfb.rand zerstört. In der Kirche erinnert der achteckige, hölzerne T.auf-
s.teindeckel an jene Zeit des Wiederaufbaus.
1785 und 1786 wurden in der Kirche verschiedene Reparationen vorgenommen. Dem
Verlangen nach mehr Luft und Raum wurde man mit den beiden grossen Rundbogen-
f.enstern im S.chiff und einer besseren Beleuchtung gerecht.
Im C.hor entstand den drei Wänden entlang ein neues Gestühl mit 22 Sitzen. Die
Balkendecke wurde herausgerissen und an ihrer Stelle entstand eine leicht Holztonne
aus langen T.annenholzbrettern. Sie entsprach zwar dem damaligen Geschmack, aber
nicht den Gesetzen der Baustatik.
Rund hundert Jahre später versuchte man mit gespannten Rundeisen der drohender
Einsturzgefahr entgegen zu wirken. Erst 1968 wurde der Kräfteausgleich innerhalb der
Dachkonstruktion mit einer stählernen Dachbinderverstärkung wieder hergestellt.
1812 errichtete Johannes Stölli auf der E.mpore eine stattliche O.rgel. Gleichzeitig
wurde in den beiden Längsmauern je ein hohes Fenster ausgebrochen, damit dem
Organisten mehr Licht zur Verfügung stand.
Um die kürzeste Verbindung vom Dorfkern zur Kirche begehbar zu machen, errichtete
David Tschabold 1816 ein 58stufige, überdachte Kirchent.reppe - ein Zimmermanns-
werk, das seinen Meister ehrt.
Die Kirchenu.hr, die heute noch ihren Dienst tut, stammt aus der Werkstatt eines St.
G.aller U.hrenmachers und wurde 1869 an Stelle des nicht mehr genügenden alten
Werkes gesetzt.
Im Frühjahr 1897 lieferte die G.lockengiesserei H. R.üetschi AG in A.arau ein neues,
dreistimmiges Geläute im F-Dur-Dreiklang.
Bis 1798 war das Kirchenspiel die unterste Verwaltungseinheit im bernischen Staats-
gefüge. Der Pfarrherr arbeitet nicht nur als Seelsorger sondern auch als staatlicher
Beamter auf Gemeindestufe; von der K.anzel verkündete er sowohl das Evangelium
als auch die Mandate der Regierung.
Das Gemeindegesetz 1852 löste schliesslich das Kirchenwesen teilweise aus dem
Aufgabenkreis der Einwohnergemeinde aus. Das Kirchengesetz von 1874 schaffte
noch eine klarere Ordnung und schafft Kirchgemeinde und Kirchgemeinderat. Seit
1891 ist die ganze Kirche, das P.farrh.aus mit den dazugehörigen Gebäuden Eigentum
der Kirchgemeinde. Beide stehen heute unter Denkmalschutz.

Kurz nach 1420 hatte die Erlenbacher Kirche ein grossartiges Geschenk empfangen. Der
ganze Kirchenraum, S.chiff und C.hor war mit eindrücklichen W.andb.ildern neu geschmückt
worden.
Dieses Unternehmen hatte viel Mut, Einsatz und Opferfreude gefordert. Die Auftraggeber
hatten nicht nur einen ausgezeichneten g.otischen Künstler gefunden, sondern sie hatten
es auch verstanden, diesem Meister ein B.ildprogramm aufzutragen, das die ganze christ-
liche Heilslehre packend und folgerichtig zur Darstellung brachte.
Wer diesen Kirchenraum betrat und sich unter priesterlicher Führung mit all den B.ildinhalten
vertraut machte, der empfing einen tiefen Eindruck von der erlösenden Zuwendung Gottes
an den fehlbaren und innerlich hilfsbedürftigen Menschen. Es ist unverkennbar, dass der
Schöpfer dieses B.ildprogramms solche Seelenführung und Seelsorge anstrebte.
Nahezu vier Jahrhunderte waren seit der Reformation verstrichen und niemand wusste mehr
von den verborgenen Schätzen und man stand 1901 plötzlichen ungekannten Bildspuren
gegenüber, die sich in der Nordostecke des Schiffs zeigten.
Der zu Rate gezogene Professor Zemp ahnte grosse, wertvolle Z.yklen und empfahl deren
Freilegung. Der Kirchgemeinderat gab zu verstehen, dass er der Gesellschaft für Erhaltung
historischer Denkmäler gegenüber den alten Standpunkt zu behaupten habe und die Kirche
wurde erneut geweisselt.
Dreissig Jahre später zeigten sich wiederum M.alspuren. Diese schienen so vielversprechend,
dass Pfarrer Richard Bäumlin eigenhändig zum Schabm.esser griff. Je mehr die Wand wieder
in ihren warmen Farben zu leuchten begannen, desto mehr geriet der alte Standpunkt des
Rates ins Wanken. Der einzige anerkannte Restaurator, M.aler K.arl L.üthi, machte sich an die
Freilegung der B.ilder.
Wieder waren dreissig Jahre vergangen und die B.ilder hatten nicht nur Staub angesetzt,
sondern auch Risse bekommen und die Wischfestigkeit ihrer Farben eingebüsst. Wiederum
setzte sich der Pfarrherr, nun Ernst von Känel, für eine umfassende Restaurierung ein. Im
S.ommer 1962 gingen der erfahrene Restaurator Hans A. F.ischer und seine Mitarbeiter ans
Werk.
Nach der Freilegung aller noch auffindbaren Details wurde die M.alerei ein erstes Mal mit
einer erprobten F.ixierflüssigkeit bespricht. Damit waren die nicht mehr wischfesten Farben
vorläufig gespeichert. Nach der teilweisen Ergänzung der fehlenden B.ilder wurde mit einer
letzten Fixierung verhindert, dass der S.taub weiterhin in die Poren der M.alschicht eindringt.
So verlangen die B.ilder keine weitere Wartung ausser eine alle zehn Jahre zu wiederholende
sorgfältige Entstaubung durch den Restaurator.

Diana Eng (born 1983 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American fashion designer and was a contestant on the second season of the reality television program Project Runway. She attended Stanton College Preparatory School and later the Rhode Island School of Design. Eng's work has been featured on the cover of i-D magazine and in the Boston Globe. Eng held a major fashion show after the success of Project Runway and had model Diana Georgie as the opening catwalker.

Diana Eng is a fashion designer who specializes in technology, math, and science. Her designs range from inflatable clothing to fashions inspired by the mechanical engineering of biomimetics. In 2005, she was a designer on Season Two of the Emmy nominated hit TV show, Project Runway. She won Yahoo Hack Day in 2006 along with her two-team mates for designing and creating a blogging purse in less than 24 hours. She has worked as an assistant designer in research and development at Victoria’s Secret. She is the author of Fashion Geek: Clothes, Accessories, Tech. Her work has been featured in exhibits both in the U.S. and internationally around the globe, and has graced the pages of such publications as Women’s Wear Daily, Wired, Craft Magazine, and the cover of ID Magazine. Diana currently designs in the NYC fashion industry and is a founding member of Brooklyn based hacker group NYC Resistor.

Diana Eng: As a fashion designer who works with science and technology, I've learned about some really amazing things. I've had some great experiences as a designer: sitting front row at fashion week, working at various fashion companies, researching at the University of Bath Mechanical Engineering Dept., being a designer on Project Runway, working in Victoriai's Secret Research and Development department, and co-founding NYC Resistor hacker group. When I was a little girl, I wish that my friends and I knew about some of the things I know today. We would have loved to play with them. Dress-up with super sparkling LED's. Imagining worlds made of deployable structures. I want to share all of the neat things I've learned, because no matter what your age, science and technology are always fun to play with.
You may not be able to sew or solder or draft a pattern or program a microcontroller. But that's okay because Fairytale Fashion is about imagining the possibilities. I will be trying my best to make them happen.

Founded in 1996 and incorporated in 1997, Eyebeam was conceived as a non-profit art and technology center dedicated to exposing broad and diverse audiences to new technologies and media arts, while simultaneously establishing and demonstrating new media as a significant genre of cultural production.
Since then, Eyebeam has supported more than 130 fellowships and residencies for artists and creative technologists; we've run an active education program for youth, artists' professional development and community outreach; and have mounted an extensive series of public programs, over recent years approximately 4 exhibitions and 40 workshops, performances and events annually.
Today, Eyebeam offers residencies and fellowships for artists and technologists working in a wide range of media. At any given time, there are up to 20 resident artists and fellows onsite at Eyebeam's 15,000-square foot Chelsea offices and Labs, developing new projects and creating work for open dissemination through online, primarily open-source, publication as well as a robust calendar of public programming that includes free exhibitions, lectures and panels, participatory workshops, live performances and educational series.

Isola Bella (lit. 'beautiful island') is one of the Borromean Islands of Lago Maggiore in north Italy. The island is situated in the Borromean Gulf 400 metres from the lakeside town of Stresa. Isola Bella is 320 metres long by 400 metres wide and is divided between the Palace, its Italianate garden, and a small fishing village.
Until 1632 the island—known only as l’isola inferiore or isola di sotto—was a rocky crag occupied by a tiny fishing village: but that year Carlo III of the influential House of Borromeo began the construction of a palazzo dedicated to his wife, Isabella D'Adda, from whom the island takes its name. He entrusted the works to the Milanese Angelo Crivelli, who was also to be responsible for the planning the gardens. The works were interrupted around middle of the century when the Duchy of Milan was struck by a devastating outbreak of the plague.
Construction resumed when the island passed to Carlo’s sons, Cardinal Giberto III (1615–1672) and Vitaliano VI (1620–1690); the latter in particular, with the financial backing of his elder brother, entrusted the completion of the works to the Milanese architect Carlo Fontana and turned the villa into a place of sumptuous parties and theatrical events for the nobility of Europe.
The completion of the gardens, however, was left to his nephew Carlo IV (1657–1734). They were inaugurated in 1671.
The island achieved its highest level of social success during the period of Giberto V Borromeo (1751–1837) when guests included Edward Gibbon, Napoleon and his wife Joséphine de Beauharnais, and Caroline of Brunswick, the Princess of Wales. It is said that Caroline, having fallen in love with the place, did her best to convince the Borromeo family to sell her Isola Madre or the Castelli di Cannero islands; her request being turned down, she established herself on the banks of Lake Como at Cernobbio in the Villa d’Este.

Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. It occupies an area of 159.2 km2 (61.5 sq mi) with a population of 412,144.[1] It is situated on the northern coast of the country, on the banks of the Gulf of Finland, 80 km (50 mi) south of Helsinki, east of Stockholm and west of Saint Petersburg. Tallinn's Old Town is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Tallinn is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top 10 digital cities in the world.[2] Tallinn is a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku, Finland.

In 1154 a town called Qlwn[3] or Qalaven (possible derivations of Kalevan or Kolyvan)[4][5] was put on the world map of the Almoravid by cartographer Muhammad al-Idrisi who described it as a small town like a large castle among the towns of Astlanda. It has been suggested that the Quwri in Astlanda may have denoted the predecessor town of today's Tallinn.[6][7]
The earliest names of Tallinn include Kolyvan (Russian: Колывань) known from East Slavic chronicles, the name possibly deriving from the Estonian mythical hero Kalev.[8][9]
Up to the 13th century the Scandinavians and Henry of Livonia in his chronicle called the town Lindanisa: Lyndanisse in Danish,[10][11][12] Lindanäs in Swedish, also mentioned as Ledenets in Old East Slavic. According to some theories the name derived from mythical Linda, the wife of Kalev and the mother of Kalevipoeg.[13] who in an Estonian legend carried rocks to her husband's grave that formed the Toompea hill.[14]
It has been also suggested that in the context the meaning of linda in the archaic Estonian language, that is similar to lidna in Votic, had the same meaning as linna or linn later on meaning a castle or town in English. Other than Kesoniemi known ancient historical names of Tallinn in Finnish include Rääveli. The Icelandic Njálssaga mentions Tallinn and calls it Rafala, which is a variant of the name Raphael.
After the Danish conquest in 1219 the town became known in the German, Swedish and Danish languages as Reval (Latin: Revalia). The name originated from (Latin) Revelia (Estonian) Revala or Rävala, the adjacent ancient name of the surrounding Estonian county.

The old town
The origin of the name "Tallinn(a)" is certain to be Estonian, although the original meaning of the name is debated. It is usually thought to be derived from "Taani-linn(a)" (meaning "Danish-castle/town"; Latin: Castrum Danorum) after the Danes built the castle in place of the Estonian stronghold at Lindanisse. However, it could also have come from "tali-linna" ("winter-castle/town"), or "talu-linna" ("house/farmstead-castle/town"). The element -linna, like Germanic -burg and Slavic -grad / -gorod, originally meant "fortress" but is used as a suffix in the formation of town names.
The previously used official German name Reval (help·info) (Ревель) was replaced after Estonia became independent in 1918–1920. At first both forms Tallinna and Tallinn were used.[16] The United States Board on Geographic Names adopted the form Tallinn between June 1923 and June 1927.[17] The form Tallinna appearing in modern times in Estonian denotes the genitive case of the name, as in Tallinna Reisisadam (Port of Tallinn).
Other variations of modern spellings include Tallinna in Finnish and Та́ллин in Russian.
A form Tallin deriving from the Romanization of Russian spelling of the name Та́ллин [18] was also used internationally during the era Estonia was annexed by the Soviet Union.

In 1285 the city became the northernmost member of the Hanseatic League – a mercantile and military alliance of German-dominated cities in Northern Europe. The Danes sold Tallinn along with their other land possessions in northern Estonia to the Teutonic Knights in 1346. Medieval Tallinn enjoyed a strategic position at the crossroads of trade between Western and Northern Europe and Russia. The city, with a population of 8,000, was very well fortified with city walls and 66 defence towers.
A weather vane, the figure of an old warrior called Old Thomas, was put on top of the spire of the Tallinn's Town Hall in 1530 that became the symbol for the city.
With the start of the Protestant Reformation the German influence became even stronger as the city was converted to Lutheranism. In 1561 Tallinn politically became a dominion of Sweden.
During the Great Northern War, Tallinn along with Swedish Estonia and Livonia capitulated to Imperial Russia in 1710, but the local self-government institutions (Magistracy of Reval and Chivalry of Estonia) retained their cultural and economical autonomy within Imperial Russia as the Duchy of Estonia. The Magistracy of Reval was abolished in 1889. The 19th century brought industrialization of the city and the port kept its importance. During the last decades of the century Russification measures became stronger.

On 24 February 1918, the Independence Manifesto was proclaimed in Tallinn, followed by Imperial German occupation and a war of independence with Russia. On 2 February 1920, the Tartu Peace Treaty was signed with Soviet Russia, wherein Russia acknowledged the independence of the Estonian Republic. Tallinn became the capital of an independent Estonia. After World War II started, Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1940, and later occupied by Nazi Germany from 1941–44. After Nazi retreat in 1944, it was occupied by the USSR again as part of the Communist International crusade when Socialism was forcibly imposed on the local population. After annexation into the Soviet Union, Tallinn became the capital of the Estonian SSR.
During the 1980 Summer Olympics, the sailing (then known as yachting) events were held at Pirita, north-east of central Tallinn. Many buildings, such as the "Olümpia" hotel, the new Main Post Office building, and the Regatta Center, were built for the Olympics.

In August 1991 an independent democratic Estonian state was re-established and a period of quick development to a modern European capital ensued. Tallinn became the capital of a de facto independent country once again on August 20, 1991.
Tallinn has historically consisted of three parts:
The Toompea (Domberg) or "Cathedral Hill", which was the seat of the central authority: first the Danish captains, then the komturs of the Teutonic Order, and Swedish and Russian governors. It was until 1877 a separate town (Dom zu Reval), the residence of the aristocracy; it is today the seat of the Estonian government and many embassies and residencies.
The Old Town, which is the old Hanseatic town, the "city of the citizens", was not administratively united with Cathedral Hill until the late 19th century. It was the centre of the medieval trade on which it grew prosperous.
The Estonian town forms a crescent to the south of the Old Town, where the Estonians came to settle. It was not until the mid-19th century that ethnic Estonians replaced the local Baltic Germans as the majority amongst the residents of Tallinn.
Historically, the city has been attacked, sacked, razed and pillaged on numerous occasions. Although extensively bombed by Soviet air forces during the latter stages of World War II, much of the medieval Old Town still retains its charm. The Tallinn Old Town (including Toompea) became a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 1997.
At the end of the 15th century a new 159 m (521.65 ft) high Gothic spire was built for St. Olaf's Church. Between 1549 and 1625 it was the tallest church in the world. After several fires and following rebuilding, its overall height is now 123 m (403.54 ft).

[ENG] The Castillo de los Mendoza, better known as Castillo Nuevo de Manzanares el Real, is the most emblematic fortress in the Community of Madrid and one of the best preserved in Spain. The construction was started by the 1st Duke of the Infantado, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza in the 15th century and was completed by his son, Íñigo López de Mendoza, who hired the architect Juan Guas, one of the greatest representatives of late Gothic in Castile and architect of the Kings Catholics. The building reflects the transition from the medieval chivalric era with its defensive elements and the humanist Renaissance with its large halls, decorated facades and magnificent viewpoints, more typical of a palace. Mr. Gustavo Adolfo Wülff, an important business man of Valparaíso, had this imposing castle located on the Marga-marga estuary built in the city of Viña del Mar. The castle was finished in 1906 but the work was completed with the grand tower in which a transparent floor that permits you to see the ocean was installed. The last time that I visited it, when it was still a museum, I was very impressed to walk over the transparent floor and see my below my feet, the waves crashing into the rocks, in addition the incredible view that the castle has from the top of the tower.
Currently, it is a Historic Monument and since 2002 it is used as the International Relations and Interuniversity Center for the Municipality of Viña del Mar.

El Señor Gustavo Adolfo Wülff, un importante hombre de negocios de Valparaíso, mando a contruir este imponente castillo ubicado en la desembocadura del estero Marga-Marga en la ciudad de Viña del Mar. El castillo fue terminado en 1906 pero su obra se coronó con la gran torre donde instaó un piso transparente que permitía ver el mar. La última vez que lo visite, cuando aun era museo, quedé muy impresionado al caminar por el piso transparente y ver a mis pies las olas asotandose en los roquerios, además de la increible vista que se tiene desde la cima de la torre.
Actualmente es un Monumento Historico y desde el año 2002 funciona como Centro Interuniversitario y de Relaciones Internacionales de la Municipalidad de Viña del Mar.

is a municipality of Portugal, in the Setúbal District, lying at the foothills of the Serra da Arrábida, a mountain range between Setúbal and Sesimbra.
Due to its particular position at the Setúbal Bay, near the mouth of the Sado River and its natural harbour, it’s an important fishing town, with a total area of 195.0 km2 (75 sq mi) and a total population of 37,567 inhabitants.
General information
Besides professional fishing and sport fishing (mainly of swordfish), the most significant revenues in Sesimbra come from tourism. The town is famous for its beaches, fish restaurants and nightlife.
The original name of Celtic origin was Cempsibriga, meaning the Burg (Briga) of the Celtic tribe the Sesim.
Close by, on a mountaintop, 240 m (787.40 ft) above sea level, lies strategically (the ruins of) the Moorish castle. It was taken from the Moors, during the Portuguese Reconquista in the year 1165 by king Afonso Henriques with the help of Frank Crusaders. The battlements afford a beautiful panorama over Sesimbra, its harbour and the surrounding countryside.
During the Age of Discoveries, Sesimbra became an important seaport. Even king Manuel I lived here for a while. In the 17th century the fort Fortaleza de Santiago was built along the beach, as part of Portugal's coastal defence. It was even used in the 18th century by Portuguese kings as a seaside retreat.
A tourist travelling to Sesimbra can appreciate its beaches, traditional fish restaurants and the Arrábida National Park.
Close to the Moorish castle is the church Nossa Senhora do Castelo. It stands on the spot where king Sancho I built a Romanesque chapel in the early 13th century, leading to the creation in 1388 of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Castelo de Sesimbra. The present church was built in 1721. When a new church was built in the village, this church passed into disuse and fell into ruins. It was restored between 1965 and 2001. The walls of the church are inlaid with beautiful azulejos. The 17th century-pulpit was made from local pink marble. The gilded triumphal arch of the 18th century-choir is decorated with Manueline motives. On the left side of the choir stands in a niche the gilded and polychromed statue of the Madonna of the Castle on a giant shell.
There is a local radio station in the municipality, Sesimbra FM.

Sesimbra é uma Vila portuguesa pertencente ao Distrito de Setúbal, região de Lisboa e sub-região da Península de Setúbal, com cerca de 23 800 habitantes (2011). É sede do município com o mesmo nome com 195,01 km² de área e 49 500 habitantes (2011), subdividido em 3 freguesias: Castelo, Santiago e Quinta do Conde. O município é limitado a norte pelos municípios de Almada e do Seixal, a nordeste pelo Barreiro, a leste por Setúbal e a sul e a oeste tem litoral no oceano Atlântico. A foz do rio Sado, a serra da Arrábida,o cabo Espichel e lagoa de Albufeira fazem parte da paisagem natural de Sesimbra. A terceira freguesia do municipio, designada por Quinta do Conde, tem igualmente o estatuto de Vila (homónima).
História
Em , 15 de Agosto de 1201 foi concedido aos habitantes de Sesimbra a Carta de Foral, documento régio que aplica os direitos e deveres.
Foi no reinado de D. Dinis, sexto rei de Portugal, que se criou a Póvoa de Ribeira de Sesimbra, pequena aldeia de pescadores, junto ao mar.
A aldeia cresceu muito e tornou-se vila à época dos Descobrimentos.
Sesimbra passou a ser um importante porto de construção naval e de abastecimentos de embarcações.

ENG: I enjoyed some days on the Hungarian puszta, and visted Bence Maté and his Hidephotography Center in Pusztaszer. The Bee-Eaters were very active, and I got some great shots of the colorful Bee-Eaters.

NOR: Jeg var nylig ute på det Ungarske steppelandet (pusztaen), og besøkte Bence Maté og hans Hidephotography Senter. tror ikke jeg skal anbefale noen å sette seg i et skjul ute på en kornåker på en varm, varm sommerdag, men Bieterne var imidlertid meget aktive og jeg fikk tatt mange fine bilder.

A look around the Borromeo Palace and it's amazing gardens.
Isola Bella (lit. 'beautiful island') is one of the Borromean Islands of Lago Maggiore in north Italy. The island is situated in the Borromean Gulf 400 metres from the lakeside town of Stresa. Isola Bella is 320 metres long by 400 metres wide and is divided between the Palace, its Italianate garden, and a small fishing village.
Until 1632 the island—known only as l’isola inferiore or isola di sotto—was a rocky crag occupied by a tiny fishing village: but that year Carlo III of the influential House of Borromeo began the construction of a palazzo dedicated to his wife, Isabella D'Adda, from whom the island takes its name. He entrusted the works to the Milanese Angelo Crivelli, who was also to be responsible for the planning the gardens. The works were interrupted around middle of the century when the Duchy of Milan was struck by a devastating outbreak of the plague.
Construction resumed when the island passed to Carlo’s sons, Cardinal Giberto III (1615–1672) and Vitaliano VI (1620–1690); the latter in particular, with the financial backing of his elder brother, entrusted the completion of the works to the Milanese architect Carlo Fontana and turned the villa into a place of sumptuous parties and theatrical events for the nobility of Europe.
The completion of the gardens, however, was left to his nephew Carlo IV (1657–1734). They were inaugurated in 1671.
The island achieved its highest level of social success during the period of Giberto V Borromeo (1751–1837) when guests included Edward Gibbon, Napoleon and his wife Joséphine de Beauharnais, and Caroline of Brunswick, the Princess of Wales. It is said that Caroline, having fallen in love with the place, did her best to convince the Borromeo family to sell her Isola Madre or the Castelli di Cannero islands; her request being turned down, she established herself on the banks of Lake Como at Cernobbio in the Villa d’Este.
