Voorheen kwamen we regelmatig naar de ZLSM voor de stoomtreindagen. Helaas zijn die enkele jaren niet meer gehouden. Maar in 2023 was het gelukkig weer zover. De eigen 1040 reed onder stoom samen met de HSIJ 22 'Tom' en HSIJ 57 ' Bonne'. Ook stichting Crew 2454 met de 2454 en de mP 3029, de SMMR 2225, de SHD 2205 en De Karel stel 466 waren aanwezig. De SSN kwam met de 01 1075 en 23 023 met een extra rit langs. Er reden veel personentreinen, maar ook enkele goederentreinen voor de fotografen. Een erg geslaagd evenement op een schitterende dag.

We used to come to the ZLSM regularly for the steam train days. Unfortunately, they were not held for a few years. But in 2023 it was fortunately time again. Their own 1040 ran under steam together with the HSIJ 22 'Tom' and HSIJ 57 'Bonne'. Wir kamen regelmäßig zu den Dampfzugtagen der ZLSM. Leider haben sie mehreren Jahren nicht mehr stattgefunden. Aber glücklicherweise ist es 2023 erneut organisiert. Die eigene 1040 fuhr zusammen mit der HSIJ 22 „Tom“ und der HSIJ 57 „Bonne“ unter Dampf. Ebenfalls anwesend waren die Crew 2454 Foundation mit der 2454 und der mP 3029, die SMMR 2225, die SHD 2205 und das De Karel Set 466. Die SSN kam mit der 01 1075 und 23 023 mit einer Sonderfahrt aus Rotterdam. Es waren viele Personenzüge, aber auch einige Güterzüge für die Fotografen da. Eine sehr gelungene Veranstaltung an einem wunderschönen Tag.

Helaas raakte daarbij Rij-ijzer defect en moest teruggesleept worden door de ELNA. Op zaterdagavond werd er een night shooting georganiseerd, wat in mijn ogen wel een hoogtepunt was van het weekend. Zeker later op de avond, waren wij nog de enigen op het depot en konden we nog vele mooie plaatjes schieten.

My son and I went to the MBS Autumn Steam Days for two days. This year, in addition to the Wismar railbus, the Magda, and the Kikker, the ELNA 152, all black, was also participating. Mein Sohn und ich besuchten zwei Tage lang die MBS Herbstdampftage. Dieses Jahr war neben dem Wismarer Schienenbus, der Magda und der Kikker auch die komplett schwarze ELNA 152 dabei. Die Gastlokomotive SHM 6513 war ebenfalls im Einsatz. Die beiden Lokomotiven MBS 12 Rij-ijzer, 't Gekje' und MBS 10 'Nijverdal' unternahmen eine Fahrt nach Zoutindustrie. Leider hatte Rij-ijzer eine Panne und musste von der ELNA zurückgeschleppt werden. Am Samstagabend fand ein Nachtfotoshooting statt, das meiner Meinung nach ein Höhepunkt des Wochenendes war. Vor allem später am Abend waren wir die Einzigen im Depot und konnten viele schöne Fotos machen.

Elk jaar organiseert de MBS een Najaarsstoomdag. Dit jaar kwam ook de 162 in actie met een net opgeknapte boxcar. Ook werden er weer enkele slagen gereden met de Wismar railbus. Het was helaas erg regenachtig, wat echter wel weer bijdroeg aan de sfeer.

Every year the MBS organizes an Autumn Stoom Day. This year, the 162 came into action with a recently refurbished boxcar also. There were also some rides with the Wismar railbus. Unfortunately it was raining a lot, although it did add to the atmosphere.

Jedes Jahr organisiert die MBS einen Autumn Stoom Day. In diesem Jahr kam der 162 auch mit einem kürzlich renovierten Güterwagen zum Einsatz. Es gab auch einige fahrten mit dem Wismar-Schienenbus. Leider war es sehr regnerisch, was aber zur Atmosphäre beitrug.

Daarnaast stonden op het depot in Goes de SGB omC 910 en omC 909, CREW 2454 C9002 'Jaap', SHD 302282 'Anneke' en SHD Plan D 60 84 978 1 005-1 Meetrijtuig CTO ter bezichtiging. Genoeg te zien dus. Het was schitterend weer en we hebben ons dus weer prima vermaakt.

Today was a beautiful day and we decided to take a drive out to Tarana again to get a few photos at the station and we were quite surprised when we sure a 7 diesel engine freight train come through while we were there. I was trackside while Ian was standing on the pltaform,

New Haven Railroad DERS-4 class EMD GP-9's # 1203 & 1205, are seen in yard locomotive maintenance area at Providence, Rhode Island, ca Late 1950's. A total of 30 GP-9 (Road Switchers) arrived on the property in 1956. These locomotives were also known as Cadillac's, and were purchased as dual service engines, complete with 83 MPH gearing and steam generator. Seen in the background are some stored passenger cars.

A day out at the Didcot Railway centre yesterday. It was a very delayed gift that we couldn't use because of Covid. Pretty interesting although I have to admit my husband enjoyed it more than I did !

In de nacht van 6 op 7 februari trok er een sneeuwstorm over het land. Met een code rood, was vervolgens al het verkeer ontregeld of kwam volledig stil te liggen. Zo ook bij de spoorwegen. Tegen het eind van de week kwam het treinverkeer langzaamaan weer op gang en werd het weer, hoewel nog steeds koud, steeds mooier. Dus een mooie reden om er nog even op uit te trekken met mijn oudste zoon.

On the night of 6 to 7 February, a snowstorm swept the country. With a code red, all traffic was subsequently disrupted or came to a complete standstill. This is also the case with the railways. Towards the end of the week, train traffic was slowly picking up again and the weather, although still cold, was getting better and better. So a good reason to go out with my oldest son to make some pictures.

In der Nacht vom 6. auf den 7. Februar traf ein Schneesturm das Land. Mit einem Code Rot wurde der gesamte Verkehr unterbrochen oder kam zum Stillstand. Dies gilt auch für die Eisenbahnen. Gegen Ende der Woche nahm der Zugverkehr langsam wieder zu und das Wetter wurde, obwohl es immer noch kalt war, immer besser. Ein guter Grund, mit meinem ältesten Sohn auszugehen um Bilder zu machen.

Dit jaar met mijn twee zonen naar het jaarlijks evenement 'Sporen naar het verleden' geweest. Naast de eigen loc 4389, waren dit jaar stoomloc 5 'Enkhuizen' van de SHM, de 23 023 van de SSN en Crew 2454 met hun 2454, Mat '64 stel 904 en mP 3029 aanwezig. Ook maakten de omC 909 en 910 enkele ritten. Dit jaar besteedden we vooral aandacht aan de omC 909 en 910. Het was weer een erg geslaagd evenement.

Elk jaar wordt met Hemelvaart de Nationale Stoomtreindag georganiseerd. Meestal zijn we dan bij de SGB of de RTM te vinden. Dit keer wilde ik, naar aanleiding van foto's die ik in Fb had gezien, eens naar de VSM. Samen met mijn oudste zoon op pad naar Loenen, waar we bijna een privé showtje goederenwagens rangeren hadden. Een groot deel van de ochtend hebben we bij de VSM doorgebracht, waarna we in de middag naar Zwolle zijn gegaan om daar nog de 1700 in dienst te bekijken.

Every year the National Steam Train Day is organized during Ascension Day. We can usually be found at the SGB or the RTM. This time, based on photos I had seen in Facebook, I wanted to go to the VSM. Together with my eldest son we went to Loenen, where we almost had a private show of shunting freight wagons. We spent a large part of the morning at the VSM, after which we went to Zwolle in the afternoon to view the 1700 in service there.

Samen met mijn twee zoons en een vriendje langs de lijn en in de trein doorgebracht. Het was schitterend weer; veel zon, maar daardoor helaas minder stoomontwikkeling. Weer een geslaagde dag uit.

In 2022, after two years (Corona), Back to Then was organized again by the Veluwse Steam Train Company (VSM). The 44 1593, 50 307, 52 3879, 50 3654, 65 018, 23 071, 64 415, 2459, 2530 2233 and the SSN 01 1075 and 23 023 came into action. Voordat we naar Plandampf 'Dampf trifft Kies III' in het Werratal gingen, verbleven mijn vader en ik nog drie dagen in de Harz, om daar alvast van stoom te kunnen genieten bij de HSB. De Selketalbahn is in mijn ogen een van de mooiste lijntjes waar met gemak de trein is te volgen en veel mooie foto's gemaakt kunnen worden. Maar ook de Harzquerbahn en Wernigerode werden bezocht.

Before we went to Plandampf 'Dampf trifft Kies III' in the Werrtal valley, my father and I stayed in the Harz for three more days to enjoy some steam at the HSB. The Selketalbahn is in my opinion one of the most beautiful lines where you can easily follow the train and many beautiful pictures can be taken. But the Harzquerbahn and Wernigerode were also visited.

New Haven Railroad has 3 early version DERS-3 class FM H16-44 locomotives leading a freight train along the Shore Line as it passes by a station, 6-1955. It appears that a train must be heading in the opposite direction as indicated by the green color of the block signal. The station is unknown. Locomotive 599 is in the lead.

The "Ouvrage Michelsberg" is one of the numerous Maginot Line fortifications, located at about 23 km from Thionville, and now operated as a museum.

New Haven Railroad DER-3a class ALCO PA-1 locomotive 0775 leads another PA-1 with its passenger train on the main line as it passes by the station at Canton Junction in Massachusetts, late 1950's. The McGinnis paint scheme applied to the locomotives really shows up. On a siding to the left there are boxcars with many railroad names now history. There appear to be numerous vehicle parked at the station and they are most likely for commuters.

Nachdem im Juni 2022 der letzte Donautäler Radexpress gefahren ist, galten lokbespannte Wendezüge im Nahverkehr zwischen Ulm und Donaueschingen lange als ausgestorben. Doch durch Fahrzeugengpässe beim Regio Standort Ulm, kommt es seit kurzer Zeit wieder zu vereinzelten Einsätzen von einem mit der Baureihe 245 bespannten Ersatzzug. Am 17.12.24 schien nach mehreren Wochen endlich wieder die Sonne und so konnte 245 035 mit dem RE 3217 bei Thiergarten an der Donau fotografiert werden.

Auf der Fahrt zum Marillenkirtag in der Wachau konnten der Sonderzug R 14784 auf der Brücke über die neue Donau abgelichtet werden.

After a week or two of beautiful warm sunshine & a few days in Llanberis a trip to Snowdon Summit was booked. Just our luck when we got to the top it was pouring with rain and covered in low cloud. Not a vew to be seen!! Good excuse to go again......

Door Corona en familieomstandigheden, waren we niet in staat om bij Plandampf in het Werratal te zijn. Maar na zoveel jaar kruipt het bloed toch waar het niet gaan kan. Daarom besloten mijn vader, mijn oudste zoon en ik in de meivakantie naar het voormalige Oost-Duitsland af te reizen om daar te genieten van smalspoor stoom.

Als eerste bezochten we de Zittauer Schmalspurbahn, waar door werkzaamheden aan de Mandaubrücke in Zittau zelf, alleen het traject vanaf Zittau Vorstadt naar Jonsdorf/Oybin werd bereden. Daarnaast was na 68 jaar Bertsdorf weer 'Lokeinsatzstelle'. Een unieke gelegenheid dus.

Due to Corona and family circumstances, we were unable to join Plandampf in the Werratal. But after so many years, the blood creeps where it can't go. That is why my father, my eldest son and I decided to travel to the former East Germany during the May holidays, to enjoy narrow-gauge steam.

First we visited the Zittauer Schmalspurbahn, where due to work on the Mandaubrücke in Zittau itself, only the route from Zittau Vorstadt to Jonsdorf/Oybin was used. In addition, after 68 years Bertsdorf was again 'Lokeinsatzstelle'. So a unique opportunity.

Aufgrund von Corona und familiären Umständen konnten wir leider nicht bei Plandampf im Werratal sein. Aber nach so vielen Jahren kriecht das Blut dahin, wo es nicht hin kann. Deshalb haben mein Vater, mein ältester Sohn und ich beschlossen, in den Maiferien in die ehemaligen DDR zu reisen, um Schmalspurdampf zu genießen.

Zuerst besuchten wir die Zittauer Schmalspurbahn, wo aufgrund von Arbeiten an der Mandaubrücke in Zittau selbst, nur die Strecke von der Zittauer Vorstadt nach Jonsdorf/Oybin befahren wurde. Außerdem war Bertsdorf nach 68 Jahren wieder Lokeinsatzstelle. Also eine einmalige Gelegenheit.

Voorheen kwamen we regelmatig naar de ZLSM voor de stoomtreindagen. Helaas zijn die enkele jaren niet meer gehouden. Maar in 2023 was het gelukkig weer zover. De eigen 1040 reed onder stoom samen met de HSIJ 22 'Tom' en HSIJ 57 ' Bonne'. Ook stichting Crew 2454 met de 2454 en de mP 3029, de SMMR 2225, de SHD 2205 en De Karel stel 466 waren aanwezig. De SSN kwam met de 01 1075 en 23 023 met een extra rit langs. Er reden veel personentreinen, maar ook enkele goederentreinen voor de fotografen. Een erg geslaagd evenement op een schitterende dag.

We used to come to the ZLSM regularly for the steam train days. Unfortunately, they were not held for a few years. But in 2023 it was fortunately time again. Their own 1040 ran under steam together with the HSIJ 22 'Tom' and HSIJ 57 'Bonne'. The SSN came along with the 01 1075 and 23 023 with an extra train from Rotterdam. Many passenger trains ran, but also some freight trains were scheduled for the photographers. A very successful event on a beautiful day.

Wir kamen regelmäßig zu den Dampfzugtagen der ZLSM. Leider haben sie mehreren Jahren nicht mehr stattgefunden. Aber glücklicherweise ist es 2023 erneut organisiert. Die eigene 1040 fuhr zusammen mit der HSIJ 22 „Tom“ und der HSIJ 57 „Bonne“ unter Dampf. Ebenfalls anwesend waren die Crew 2454 Foundation mit der 2454 und der mP 3029, die SMMR 2225, die SHD 2205 und das De Karel Set 466. Die SSN kam mit der 01 1075 und 23 023 mit einer Sonderfahrt aus Rotterdam. Es waren viele Personenzüge, aber auch einige Güterzüge für die Fotografen da. Eine sehr gelungene Veranstaltung an einem wunderschönen Tag.

Auch 408 224 (ex M40 224), in Ungarn "Púpos" oder in Deutsch "Bucklige" genannt, war am Retro-Wochenende mit einem Retro-Zug unterwegs. Bemerkenswert ist der Heizwagen, der benötigt wird, da die Lok selber keine Versorgungsleitungen hat.

Hier fährt der Zug in die modernisierte Station Algyő ein. Trotz aller Moderne, die der Bahnhof jetzt ausstrahlt, hat man trotzdem noch bei den Weichen Handhebel eingebaut. Ein kleines, aber interessantes Detail.

Gedurende de zomervakantie reed de SGB een uitgebreidere dienstregeling, waarbij de twee omC-tjes ook in actie kwamen. Dit zijn toch wel een van de mooiste (replica) treinen die in Nederland rondrijden, dus onze focus lag vooral op deze twee treinstellen. Mijn zoon had ook nog zijn Lego model die hij had ontworpen en gebouwd meegenomen, die met het origineel vastgelegd werden.

During the summer holidays, the SGB operated an extended timetable, including the two OMC trains. These are among the most beautiful (replica) trains operating in the Netherlands, so our focus was primarily on these two trains. My son also brought along his Lego model, which he had designed and built, and which was photographed alongside the original.

Während der Sommerferien verkehrte die SGB mit einem erweiterten Fahrplan, unter anderem mit den beiden OMC-Zügen. Diese zählen zu den schönsten (Nachbauten) Zügen der Niederlande, daher lag unser Augenmerk vor allem auf diesen beiden Zügen. Mein Sohn hatte auch sein Lego-Modell dabei, das er selbst entworfen und gebaut hatte und das wir zusammen mit dem Original fotografiert haben.
