I took several Photographs of Locomotives, Rail Cars and Buses at the 1991 Hoboken Festival in Hoboken, New Jersey. New Jersey Transit Photo taken at Observer Hwy & Willow Ave.

“There’s never a holiday for this Southern Pacific comer that streaks through the unfenced rainbow deserts of the southwest. Practically every hour of every day – 95% of the time – a Diesel locomotive like this one on the ‘Golden State’ stays on the job. . .”

Salt Lake Garfield & Western (the Saltair Route) was purchased by Patriot Rail from its local owners in late 2021, and recently received new locomotives painted in Patriot Rail's corporate colors. The three gray engines with SLGW heraldry have been shoved to the car storage hard at the end of the line. This may be the end of this local railroad's home-grown feel.

One of the most long lived and numerous classes of British Rail diesel locomotives, the Class 37 was introduced as a result of the 1955 B. R. Modernisation plan. The first of the class appeared in 1959 with a total of 305 locomotives introduced over the next five years. Introduced as mixed freight locomotives they were used to to haul freight and, with a top of speed of 90mph and having been fitted with steam heat capability, were just as suited to hauling express and local passenger services.
No. 37 075 was built by English Electric at their Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns plant and completed in 1962 as No. D6775 and led a nomadic existance allocated to nine different locations and re-allocated to four of those during its years in BR service.
The locomotive was preserved in August 1999 and allocated to The Great Central Railway at two locations then onto Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, before moving once more to the Churnet Valley Railway in 2007. It moved to the KWVR in 2012. In 2013 it doubled for D326 in a BBC dram of The Great Train Robbery.
An oddity of the locomotive is that the noses, at each end of the locomotive, no longer match. Thought to be as a result of repair at sometime following accident damage One end has the original split head-code boxes but the other is of a later type, being completely flat and with no head-code boxes at all.

Weer genieten.
It is becoming a tradition to go to the RTM on Ascension Day, when the National Steam Day is organized. This year my oldest son and I visited this beautiful museum line in the dunes. The weather was beautiful, the trains were nice. A wonderful day again.
Every year the National Steam Train Day is organized during Ascension Day. We can usually be found at the SGB or the RTM. This time, based on photos I had seen in Facebook, I wanted to go to the VSM. Together with my eldest son we went to Loenen, where we almost had a private show of shunting freight wagons. We spent a large part of the morning at the VSM, after which we went to Zwolle in the afternoon to view the 1700 in service there.
This year my eldest son, my father and I went the event "Terug naar Toen (Back to then) by the VSM. And of course, many locs were under steam again. The SSN 65 018 and 01 1075 were visiting locomotives again. For the 65 018 one of her last appearances for the SSN before her to be taken out of service. The usual steam goods trains between Beekbergen and Apeldoorn were only running in the morning this year. So that was the focus for the morning. In the afternoon we mainly spend our time around Loenen. Again it was a magnificent spectacle with beautiful weather.

On our way back from Aberdeen to Harwich, we passed the Nene Valey Railway. We had a short stop there of course. The grounds were open, but unfortunately none of the locs was under fire. But a Black Five (frame) was shunted around and one of my favourite British locos was standing in front of the shed (tender first). It is a beautiful location with a marvellous station, signal box, railway crossing, turntable, etcetera.
