Our Spanish storyteller, Ale, ran a cooking demonstration at Spanish Storytime at Orewa Library in August. the verdict? "Delicious!"
Partnerman had two or three friends over last week for a lunch, and he literally used every goddamned knife in the house to make the meal. Jeebus H Christ on a stick, and he wonders why I'm not fond of cleaning up after his cooking.
The cooking demonstration was being held on 16 May 2012 at Singapore Polytechnic's Nutrition Health Wellness Centre Kitchen (NHWCK).
I was cooking dinner and realized that this could be a good idea for the shape assignment. I was alone at my apartment at the time so I relied on the timer on my camera. I was unhappy with how the focus was on this shot and was wondering if there was any way the focus can be improved while using the timer feature.
In the saucepan: chopped garlic and onion, olive oil, and red wine ... sauteed to just below caramelization ... (is that a word?)

SOBORO means ground meat boiled with TARE, it's sweet and salty, soy sauce & sugar taste.
Drafts for the strobist cooking assignment.
Speedlight fired through a small hole in card from the back, fill light from the right is a desklamp through a pillowcase. Occasional third light is a keyring led torch (secondary shadows in top-right and upper line of speculars in the leaning egg cup on the bottom row).
There is no fill in the top-left. In the top-right the pillow case was just hung over a chair, hence the abrupt stop on the front of the nearer cup. For the bottom row i hung a couple of pillow cases over a clothes horse, which evened things out, but i don't think it's bright enough.
I resisted the urge to boost these in photoshop. Will hopefully reshoot at the weekend.
...and why was this combination of wine, sugar and, earlier in the whole cooking process, a cinnamon stick done?
I have no idea what Pabbi was looking at in this photo.
I was out in the garden trying to capture some photos of the wild wind we have at the moment but lacking a ND Filter I couldn't get an exposure long enough for my liking.
I came in to the kitchen instead, set up my flashes and popped a few frames of Pabbi getting tea ready.
One 580ex on camera bouncing and then another 580ex far upper camera right both at round 1/64 I think
