My first time making homemade pasta. Fettuccine, cookie cutout shapes, goat cheese ravioli. Recipe inspiration here: thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/05/homemade-pasta/, except I used two cups Bob's red mill unbleached white flour, 1 cup Bob's semolina, and 6 eggs. My son and husband loved the shapes and fettuccine, and I enjoyed the ravioli. Easy and fun, will make again!

Making Yufka for the Winter. A group of women from the village get together over in one of their homes, where they make this flat bread which they then dry and store for the winter. A few days later they meet in another one's home and repeat.

Lighting conditions were tough with the mixed incandescent and natural sunlight.

With roasted asparagus (from the grocery store) and ciabatta bread from the DSM farmer's market. Tomatoes from the SOF!

Sauce from Simply Recipes. Very easy and good, mine was yellow because I had yellow tomatoes. Very rustic and chunky, with lots of other veggies...but you could run it through a food mill or processor if you wanted a smoother consistency. Fresh basil and oregano from my porch, tomatoes from the Student Organic Farm. Added sausage from the grocery store.

Cooking an Asado (lamb) slowly over 2-3 hours at Bio Bio Expeditions Camp on the Futalefu River, Chile.

First rocket stove experiment; i spent more time keeping the fire going than actually cooking, but the smell of wood and onions in olive oil more than made up for that.

An onion on a chopping board. I'm not sure how the wood got that weird blue tint to it but I thought it came out great! Not bad for a handheld compact camera.

The cooking class site was beautiful, serene, right by the water.
