It looks like we are attaching marshmallows to hot dogs with toothpicks. Color somewhat corrected with Photoshop lite. Scanned Ecktachrome film. It actually looks like the hot dogs have legs, and marshmallow heads, and were due to be skewered on the toasting fork.
We cooked the evening-meal in the shelters, after we had walked to Kidholmene.
The meal was highly nutritious, and made from mashed potatoes, fried bacon, sausages and onions. In danish it is called "Brændende kærlighed". Burning love. God knows why...

My first time making hummus from scratch - soaking the dried chickpeas on Friday night, cooking them up on Saturday, and then whizzing up the completed hummus (adding tahini, lemon juice and garlic, basically). Sprinkled with paprika, parsley and a bit of olive oil - delish.
When she isn't working at her civilian job Ingrid Alvarez enjoyed cooking, reading and outdoor activities. She likes the outdoors so much she doesn’t even own a TV. She said the reason she joined the AR is because she realized she needed more direction. She said she now has focus, disciple and purpose and gets to do things and go places her neighbors could only think about.

I think I must have been Indian in a past life because I've been craving it lately. There's an Indian restaurant near where I live and I've been trying to replicate their dishes. So I decided to buy a new Indian cookbook and tonight I made Butter chicken, Curried chickpeas and Vegetable pulao. The pulao tastes EXACTLY like what I eat at the restaurant. I'm so happy!! I think it's the ghee that makes it so.
Asian Orzo Salad
1 c. multi-colored orzo
1 cucumber, seeded and diced
1 tomato, seeded and diced or 1 can petite diced tomatoes
2 tbs. lemon juice
Fresh parsely
Fresh mint
Fresh chives
3 tbs. olive oil
2 tbs. white or rice vinegar
Prepare orzo pasta as directed on package.
Mix veggies in a bowl.
Wisk herbs, lemon juice, vinegar and olive oil and toss over veggies.
Stir in cooked pasta.
Enjoy hot or cold.
Top with grilled chicken or tofu for full meal.
*Note* Substitute grated ginger for fresh mint.
