Cookies for my lovely BABY

This is part of the cookie assortment I made for my daughter's candy themed birthday party. I used glaze for the "wrapper" and royal icing for the candy and piping. Sanding sugar for the swirls. Thanks to Josef's Vienna Bakery for inspiration.

Here are the cookies I'm sending for the auction to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. My friend wanted the Tri Delt Sorority and University of Maryland represented as well as St. Jude Hospital. We went with a fall theme so it could be advertised as "just in time for your Thanksgiving Dessert table or a hostess gift......." I hope it brings some good money for their cause.

You know what happens when you forget to line your baking sheet with parchment paper? the cookies stick, break and you end up with only 2 :)) I made them with leftover dough, so I guess they were not meant to exist anyway!

Brendan's favorite. Like super-super he-needs-to-have-them-everyday favorite.

Sweet little cookie boxes, perfect to fill with any little treats you want. Certainly the tops could be decorated any number of ways.

My flickr postings have become very infrequent, because it seems any interest in the photos is quite slim. I have enjoyed sharing my work on Flickr for several years, and cherish the relationships and inspiration I have found here. I will guess that since I now link my photos to my blog, that people may be following the link and viewing the photos there (which is great). Let me know if there are those of you who prefer for some reason to still see photos from me here on Flickr, or if you have found your way to the blog.

Vibrant series No. 1

 

This little cookie cutter is just under 1.5" / 4 cm in diameter. I happened to have some matching paper, so why not create a vibrant scene? Inspired by Macro Mondays' "Vibrant Minimalism" challenge.

Enjoy them, enjoy looking at them because you cant really have some :P

Cookies were made to match her cake. I really like how they turned out!

My hubby and I took a four day mini vacation down to Chattanooga, TN. While we were there, we were lucky enough to meet Sandie (cookielady0000) from Flickr and her husband Tom. I got to see her GORGEOUS cookie shop. I made these to bring to her. (Cookie sheet inspired totally by kneadacookie!) She totally outdid me by preparing a beautiful basket of delicious cookies for me, which my hubby and I munched on our entire trip!!! :)

Com o papel de scrap azul também combinaram bem. Muito fofos. Aí nesta foto tem uma florzinha que está com o palito. Ooops! Ela faz parte dos cupcake toppers...

Chocolate Chip Cookies

 

Ingredients:

2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (12oz.)

 

1. Preheat oven to 375º F

2. In a large bowl, combine flour,

baking soda and salt; set aside.

In another bowl, beat butter and

shortening at medium speed

until well-blended and fluffy;

gradually add sugar and brown

sugar, beat well. Add eggs and

vanilla, beat well. Add flour

mixture to butter mixture, mix

well. Stir in chocolate chips.

3. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons

about 2 inches apart on baking

sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes. Cool

slightly on baking sheet; cool

completely on wire rack.

  

The blue mat that the cookies are on is silicon, I'm testing it out for the Cooking Club of America, then I let them know what I think. I think it's very cool and worth checking out. No need for a spatula to remove the cookies and the mat can withstand up to 500º. You can also freeze them and then take them straight to the oven. Fold them up for great storage, they never lose their shape. A good investment!

Cookie was my mom's cat. After my mom left this world a few years ago, I had to find her cat a new home. I wasn't able to take her at the time because I had just given birth 3 days prior & couldn't deal with it all but I did manage to find her a wonderful home. Here she is about a month & half ago....she couldn't be more happier.

BLOG - haven't update (again) my blog (busy)

 

Yesterday (Night around 8 pm, after church) I made homemade cookies with my maid, well it turns out pretty good although we didn't put the vanilla scent, because we don't have it :/ and Actually there are suppose to have a choco (you know like the exact cookies with choco inside it), but again, we didn't have enough ingredients and exchange it with CERES, poor us, I made this cookies because I just got a new mixer, I'm doing some experiment with it, I will bake more soon, I just searching for some easy-recipe to make, maybe you guys have some (secret) recipe, share with me !!!!

 

Thankyou so much for your opinion in the last picture I made, I'm still thinking about it, I will make my decision soon (30.09 ->my birthday haha)

Halloween sample designs that I felt inspired to do after trying out a new Chocolate Minichip Cookies recipe from the book "Sugarbakers' Cookie Cutter Cookbook". Very easy recipe to work with... and I think I like these almost better than my traditional sugar cookies, yum! Some design inspirations from cakecentral, TracyLH, clipart graphics, and my talented Flickr friend who always make me try harder ;)

I got my Cookie Swap cookies!!!!! These are not my work but that of my awesome cookie queen! I love, love, love them! The details are just amazing!!! As soon as I post these, I'm going back to oogle them for awhile longer! Thank you soooo much to my queen, for all the work you put into these gorgeous cookies!!!!!

Playing around with some new ideas. The trees were inspired by a sweatshirt I found in a catalog. The square leaf cookies idea came from a pillow in a catalog.

Did anyone watch Empire? I am obsessed with this show, and Cookie Lyons! Taraji P. Henson is amazing is giving me true life in her performance as this no nonsense, powerful, strong, around-the-way girl diva.

 

Like a true boss, she strolls outta prison in her mid-90s getup, with a full on fur, leopard print short dress and chunky gold hoop earrings.

 

I can't wait til the next episode!
