I made this cookie tray for my daughter's French class!! They left quite an impression on the teacher and were the talk of the school!!
Rubber stamped Iced biscuits - made using a Cavallini & co. stamp set and an edible ' ink pad' - stamp pad felt ( a Ranger Ink 8"x 10" cut n dry stamp pad felt costs about £4.50 and will make loads of pads! ) soaked in sugarflair colouring diluted with Culpitts dipping solution ( food grade isopropyl alcohol ).
The image doesn't always turn out perfect , so that's when I use an edible pen to add detail.
the stamping works really well on rice paper too!

Could anything be better than someone sending cookies to you? I was having a rough day when I opened my mailbox to find a box in the mail from my friend Brenda in Ohio! Several of us had exchanged names for birthday cookies and as I pulled each masterpiece out of the box, I started crying. I was so touched by the thought that someone had designed something special for me............now I know who people feel when I make cookies for them. They are just gorgeous and my picture does not do them justice, nor can you smell them - they smell heavenly, like birthday cake!!! Now that the photo is has been taken, I'll let my family dive in (except for the bouquet - I'm saving it forever!) I call dibs on the pink and green striped candle!
Brenda also surprised me with three other cookies that are so outrageously special that were inspired by something I collect. They were a little damaged in shipping, so I am attaching the photo she took! www.flickr.com/photos/brenscakes/6800623160/in/photostream
Be sure to leave her a comment! They're soooo incredible!!!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH BRENDA!!!
I've never felt more special!!!!!!!!!!

It's French food day again in my daughter's French class. I quickly put these together - broke out the edible markers and used the left over colors I had from the latest rounds of cookies. I probably should have had Marlyn proofread these since she found a few grammatical errors on last years tray! It's all French to me!

This is part of the cookie assortment I made for my daughter's candy themed birthday party. I used glaze for the "wrapper" and royal icing for the candy and piping. Sanding sugar for the swirls. Thanks to Josef's Vienna Bakery for inspiration.
Here are the cookies I'm sending for the auction to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. My friend wanted the Tri Delt Sorority and University of Maryland represented as well as St. Jude Hospital. We went with a fall theme so it could be advertised as "just in time for your Thanksgiving Dessert table or a hostess gift......." I hope it brings some good money for their cause.
Sweet little cookie boxes, perfect to fill with any little treats you want. Certainly the tops could be decorated any number of ways.

My flickr postings have become very infrequent, because it seems any interest in the photos is quite slim. I have enjoyed sharing my work on Flickr for several years, and cherish the relationships and inspiration I have found here. I will guess that since I now link my photos to my blog, that people may be following the link and viewing the photos there (which is great). Let me know if there are those of you who prefer for some reason to still see photos from me here on Flickr, or if you have found your way to the blog.
