wanda's pie in the sky was rated the best purveyor of cookies in toronto by blogto, so i had to try them. i have to agree, they are the best cookies in toronto. GO EAT SOME!!
(they are in pieces because i manhandled each cookie and took a bite out of each because i didn't want to fill up on only one cookie.)
(there was also a peanut butter cookie but it was busy being eaten at the time.)

We did our Christmas food shopping and Christmas baking today, and now there is officially nothing else to do until Christmas. And please god no more spending money. It is astonishing how much we spent on groceries. Dinner better be amazing on Christmas. At least the cookies are pretty good!
We love making "windowpane" cookies and decided to try something different this year. Chocolate cookie with a starlight mint in the center.
A shortbread-like cookie recipe that includes corn starch and powdered sugar, with Clove and cinnamon added. Filling is simple butter and powdered sugar, with orange oil. If you freeze them first on the tray, then it's easier to pack them in freezer bags without ruining them. They're great straight from the freezer.
