This cemetery was formerly situated on a six-tenths acre parcel near the SE corner of SW section 7, presently the intersection of I-96 and 28th Street. In the summer of 1966, the Teeple/Cook Cemetery
was "moved" to Cascade Cemetery under the direction of a special memorial commission and the township board.

Russell Cook graduated from Northridge High School in May of 1966. Active in both activities and athletics, Russell enjoyed the chess club matches and played both football and track for the Polar Bears. He enjoyed school very much and gained valuable life lessons. Looking back, he thanks football coach Bob Fink for his advice and encouragement; he also has much respect for Mrs. Ward who showed him the way to love world history.
In the later sixties, Russell served a one-year term in the Air Force in Vietnam and received the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service in 1970. His love of flight enabled him to complete flight training at Beale air Force Base in 1972. He later became a certified rehabilitation technician in functional electrical stimulation at Wright State University in 1984. His many pilot career experiences include DC-8 Captain for DHL/ASTAR air cargo; Ohio Jet Services, chief pilot; Wright State University Pilot; Ohio Aviation Co., Check Airman, and training officer. Throughout his life Captain Cook served as both a pilot and training officer for many major businesses and organizations.
His love for and his service in air travel have earned Russell numerous humanitarian awards in foreign medical mission experience, building projects in Belize, team pharmacy tech in Honduras and Paraguay, and for site evaluation team service in Guyana. He has also received Flight Recognition Awards in Freedom Flight, USA and EAA recognition as Senior Warbird Aviator.
Over the years Russell Cook has logged over 14,800+ hours in the air, and he has captained 190 different types of aircraft-bombers, fighters, advanced trainers, airliners, helicopters, and seaplanes. He remains active in aviation through organizational work, and he continues to participate in various Dayton Air show exhibits.
Russell's mother served as his strong source of inspiration, as she instilled within him an attitude of If you can DREAM it, you can do it! When his father sometimes suggested that an objective was not attainable, Russell reacted strongly with, Watch Me! His drive for success enabled him to set goals and work for them through effort, flexibility, and great heart. Captain Russell leaves a great legacy through his professional life of flying; he currently flies Radio Control Aircraft and assists modelers new to the hobby. He will continue to show his passion and appreciation for aviation and the American Armed Forces.
Russell Cook is married to Margaret Cook. Their family includes children Hollie Lynn and Warren; they are very proud of their grandchildren, Kindred, Kayleigh, and Kami.
Printed on the front: "1868. Eutomology Building. M.A.C. Lansing, Mich. Pesha Photo." Printed on the back: "Eutomology Building - (formerly Agricultural Bldg)." Note: "Eutomology" is a spelling error. It should be "Entomology." Also, 1868 is not the year the photo was taken (Cook Hall was built in 1889). It appears to be an identifier used by the photographer.
