Colonel Edward Cook was one of the founding fathers of Rostraver Township, one of Westmoreland County's first official communities. Col. Cook owned what was then called the Rehoboth Valley, today it is known as the Cook Farm, where the original house still stands.
When Fayette County formed, part of the property then became Fayette County.
Pigeons - the present residents - Formerly Sea Harvester II, the James Cook lies at Miramar Wharf in Evans Bay awaiting disposal.

Kristy Lee Cook from last years American Idol performed a short set of songs at the One Up Elevated Lounge in downdown Albuqerque on Monday November 3rd. This was something that was hosted by KRST radio.
This was not a planned shot. I was busy in the kitchen making our evening meal of hamburgers*, baked beans and potato salad when inspired to make a selfie. I'm not usually much into those but thought it might be an interesting shot. I stood where I needed to be in the picture and focused the camera where it would sit then switched the focus to manual and nestled it atop a jar with the lens tilted up to rest on a box of brown sugar. An on-camera 420Ex flashgun was aimed at the white freezer directly behind it which made a great reflector. The first shot was well exposed but the window was blown out so I dropped the shutter speed and turned up the flash to balance the indoor exposure with the window and this was the result. Canon Xti with a 28-105mm @28mm, f/6.3@1/4 second, ISO 100.
* The bowl contains a mixture of three pounds hamburger meat, 1/2 pack each of Ranch dressing mix and Lipton Beefy Onion Recipe soup/dip mix. That's all I use for 'burgers. I usually grill them but, in anticipation of foul weather, brought out the flat griddle and cooked indoors. Leftover patties will be great for hamburger steak with beef gravy and rice. www.bensellars.com/
