Can't leave without picking up a couple of cook books... looks like lots of experimenting in the future.
4 cookbooks which turned into 1 meal, some chicken stock, and carryout pizza. Not quite the plan I was shooting for.

First of a set of four seasonal cookbooks for Gaining Ground titled Eat Up. This edition highlights items available at Chattanooga’s Farmer’s Markets.
A fave local non-profit created a cookbook this season, four of which I gave as Christmas gifts together with a matching qulted pot holder. I found all but two fabrics in my stash, and might have found those as well if I'd looked harder!
I found this simple recipe for strawberries and cream in Jennie June’s American Cookery Book, originally published in 1870.
From the Seattle Seahawks Gridiron Gourmet cookbook (1983).

Today’s challenge - Make a photo of an interesting stack of books or magazines. Consider how you handle repeating lines in your composition.
This is interesting, only if you are like me, and love to peek on other people’s book shelves.
I try to eat low carb. My weight and health are better when I do. I hope this is not the sum total of my personality- but, at the moment, this is what I'm focused on (second to photography of course). I used somber tones in this processing, because I am feeling a little somber about it right now. I chose these cookbooks for the photo because the bottom one is 15 minute low carb meals (yay!)- and the top one because there is a glass of wine and chocolate chip cookies on the cover (double yay!). The cookbooks are placed next to the microwave, because I don't really love to cook. . .
And that's that!

I worked with national food editor Rita DeMontis to create a special 12-page supplement in 2010 with some of our favourite recipes. In addition to baking many of the desserts, I food styled the shoot (pics by the amzing Veronica Henri) and papers across the country could run the supplement as is, or choose individual pages for their Life sections.
