How am I going to survive this semester? It's only the beginning and already I'm super stressed. But tomorrow my directing class is having callbacks for our 10 minute shows. Can't wait to cast my play and start working on it!
hope you all are well :)
S311 contemplates its future whilst on display at Thirlmere as part of the RTM/TrainWorks "Diesel Day". With CFCLA gradually renewing its locomotive fleet, older locomotives are gradually being sold off.
So we are on our easter leave...study leave...project break and this is my flatmate Lewis who has been studying diligently...while I ahve been messing around and taking photos instead of studiously completing my coursework.

The guy on the left habitually sits in the plaza in Harvard Square taking on all comers for $2 a game. He's been there for as long as I can remember and, judging by the times I've watched, there are few who beat him. A couple of weeks ago I was sitting there waiting for someone and got to watch him in a different mode. This youngster played with him about half an hour, watching the eyes of the master to decide whether or not a move was correct. The teacher was gentle with him, soft-spoken, and never talked down to him... explaining in detail why each move was a good one or a bad one. Then, a while later, I watched the same sort of lesson with an older teenager. I guess Harvard University isn't the only place thereabouts where real learning occurs. :-)
"Passing Cloud (after Constable)" is a sculpture by the American artist Spencer Finch that is currently being exhibited at Turner Contemporary in Margate. It is made of large sheets of theatre filters crumpled and shaped like a large cloud and suspended from the ceiling, subtlely changing colour depending on the natural light that bathes the large exhibition space.

The inspiration for this assignment came from an advertisement I noticed in a mag last week.
In the inspiration image... the wine glass was on a piano, it was night and the reflection of the bar featured in the glass. I loved the concept and so badly wanted to try something similar.
The focus is the reflection of the tree-line in the wine.
I'm learning as I go here!
Appreciate your feedback SO much!
Wasn't sure what this precious little bird was, with the pretty blue wings and tail and spotted chest. It's an Eastern Bluebird Juvenile - doesn't have its orange breast yet. Spotted at Shawnee Mission Park, Shawnee Kansas.
My nephew JP at Cinelândia Square in Downtown. At the left, in the deep, its possible to see the buildings that collapsed weeks ago... The beautiful old building in the middle is the Municipal Theater and the old building in the right is the National Museum. :¬)

Have a fantastic day! :¬D
After arriving back in La Paz, we decided to head out on a nearby
three-day hike. The trail, which was originally constructed by the
Tiwanaku culture sometime between 1000 BCE and 1200AD, stretches 72km
and descends over 3000m.
The first day, we headed out of La Paz on a minibus and got off in La
Cumbre (the summit). From there we hiked to our highest altitude of 4860
meters above sea level where there's a pile of stones that are offerings
to the mountain gods. Then, we started to descend, passing some ancient
ruins on the way. We spent the night in Challapampa, a small community
at 2825m. We had a fun evening chatting with a couple of Argentinians
our age and a couple of retirees from Kamloops.
The second day we were the second group to hit the trail. We spent most
of the day hiking through the cloud forest and going up and down through
the Andean foothills. We reached our camping spot at San Francisco
around 2 and spent a lovely afternoon chatting with the mum and youngish
daughter who were running the place and having much needed showers with
a stunning view of the Andes.
Our last day dawned wet. It had been raining all night and we could see
that it was going to be a soggy hike. While the other hikers
contemplated how to stay dry, we threw on our quick-dry clothes and set
off. We finished the hike in record time and were thoroughly soaked to
the bone by the end. We arrive in El Chairo, the town at the end of the
trail and met two lovely local women who informed us that there was a
truck waiting for them close by that could take us to the main road.
While there was other transport options, they were aimed at tourists and
were extremely expensive. We followed the two locals, only to discover
that the truck had decided to leave without them. We continued walking
with them until the next town about an hour or two away, where they
helped us get a ride to where we wanted to be and insured that we
weren't charged the tourist price!
Not used my camera very much recently. It's been even longer since I used Flickr. Funny how times change.
