[Why this Photo: This old man with the Tea Kettle was sitting alone alongside a busy road near the Railway Station in Lahore. He sat there completely lost in his own world totally unaware of any goings on around him. I had my camera in my hand but didn't want to take a photo and make him conscious so I got into my car and shot a few candids before I approached him.
While taking the photo I had this overwhelming feeling of being transported to an older era, more peaceful, slower paced, and the desaturated look was an attempt to capture that feeling.
While taking the photo I was also aware of the tombstone like appearance of the wall behind the subject and the framing was done with that and the old man's frail look in mind.]

This Project: Starting in Montmartre . . .
I'm fascinated by the shapes I find in Paris. By the textures, by the combinations. The improbable next to the impossible. In any one day of walking you can find so much variation, so much of interest, such contrast. This was one such day.
January 4, 2009. A day spent strolling and shooting in Paris with Joe Crachiola. We started out at his apartment in Montemarte and ended up around about Place de la Bataille de Stalingrad, where we had to catch a Metro so we could get ready for our evening meal.

My old friend Mark came over yesterday. We had a great time and he took these pictures, which I find delightfully quirky and moody.
We found a beachside jerk restaurant with many cool murals in Montego Bay. I left the sun's reflection in this shot as a reminder that, during our two weeks, the sun was always shining..
i'm contemplating a lot of things today - ideas, projects, a long to-do list, plans, things like that - so this "up down up down" image is very fitting for me today.
the growing events to come!
This truly is one very comfortable tunic, soft and flowy. And, it nicely transforms my stirrup pants outfit (love those stirrups, so comfy) into that of a mom-in-waiting, covering what appears to be a healthy baby bump. So, I haven't worn it out - at least not quite yet.
Wearing this tunic, I've got to be comfortable with presenting as a pregnant woman, since losing my "baby bump" is so tough for me. Warmer weather is just around the corner, so soon I hope to be wearing it with a knee-length skirt, bare legs, and cute ballerinas, or maybe some white capris and strappy flat sandals, to show off a pretty pedicure. I want to blend in with other pregnant women, by wearing outfits similar to theirs.
Guess I'd better prepare myself with answers for all the typical questions I may be asked... Most importantly -- it's a girl!
Update:
Now that I'm wearing stirrups or Capri's, pantyhose, tunics/blouses/sweaters and flats to work every day, I may just surprise the girls one day with this particular tunic. It certainly ought to get a few comments!

Perhaps a previous wedding from years gone by.

Greetings mate! I love voyaging forth to Zion National Park to contemplate poetry, physics, the golden ratio, and the Tao te Ching! What's your favorite epic poetry reflecting epic landscapes? I recently finished a book titled Epic Poetry for Epic Landscape Photographers:
www.facebook.com/Epic-Poetry-for-Epic-Landscape-Photograp...
Did you know that John Muir, Thoreau, and Emerson all loved epic poetry and poets including Shakespeare, Milton, Homer, and Robert Burns?
I recently finished my fourth book on Light Time Dimension Theory, much of which was inspired by an autumn trip to Zion!
www.facebook.com/lightimedimensiontheory/
Via its simple principle of a fourth expanding dimension, LTD Theory provides a unifying, foundational *physical* model underlying relativity, quantum mechanics, time and all its arrows and asymmetries, and the second law of thermodynamics. The detailed diagrams demonstrate that the great mysteries of quantum mechanical nonlocality, entanglement, and probability naturally arise from the very same principle that fosters relativity alongside light's constant velocity, the equivalence of mass and energy, and time dilation.
