In the midst of a blustery mess east of Mendota, Illinois, the crew on a BNSF snow clearing extra takes a cold minute to clear snow off the windshield of BNSF 4242.

Looking off an overhung promontory toward the expansive wilderness of rock, canyons, and mountains in the Maze District of Canyonlands Moment’s Notice gets a sense of vast with no indication of human development in sight. Note the large chunk of White Rim sandstone that has broken off below the viewpoint, and the Chocolate Drops and Standing Rocks in the distance.

Now that I've worn out

I've worn out the world

I'm on my knees in fascination

Looking through the night

And the moon's never seen me before

But I'm reflecting light

I rode the pain down

Got off and looked up

Looked into your eyes

The lost open windows

All around

My dark heart lit up the skies

Luckily for him, the weather was mild and he was smart enough to escape twice of the attack of the Eurasian sparrowhawk who's constantly circling our yards in search of easy prey.
