La bellissima riserva naturale di Papagayo, Lanzarote
#papagayo #lanzarote #preserve #mare #sea #spiaggia #cove #shore #caletta #pristine #natura
This was taken at West Angle Bay last night while out with some photographer friends. The rocks there make great photos. Amazing colours and shapes. I didn't realise I'd caught Ben sitting and pondering his next masterpiece until I looked at the shots later.
While visiting the Ibex Dunes in the far southern end of Death Valley National Park, I took a moment to contemplate what it would take to create a sand dune. Time, lots of it! These grains of sand had to blow in from somewhere else after they were weathered off a larger rock and then, they just waited around for their buddies until eventually they all stacked up and formed these glorious and shifting dunes. I guess there's a lesson in that for all of us. Have you found your dune yet?
I strongly suggest visiting this out-of-the-way set of dunes if you ever have a chance. You're almost guaranteed to be the only person there.

Father.
"Who? Why are you calling me father?"
Sir, are you not my father?
"I'm your Dad, Clancy, just Dad. And why are you talking funny?"
I'm endeavoring to improve upon my English.
"Endeavoring...did your Cousin Milo slip you some of his catnip last time we were over?"
I'm just saying, I could use a little self-improvement. I mean, is this all there is for me in life? We get up in the morning, you scratch our bums, we break our fast, then you and Mom do your thing all day and I'm left bouncing a ball off my head until you get home. All that's missing are steel bars and a tin cup. Remember, a day for you is like a week for me.
"I'm sorry you feel that way, but someone's got to pay for your dog food and vet bills."
Frankly, we could skip the vet visits. I'm not THAT hard up for
activities. And really, the last time we were there he asked you for a specimen of my feces. I mean, honestly!
"Besides, you get to do a lot of things. We visit your cousins Duke and Milo and Buddy, you go to the dog park to play with your friends, you scout the property when I'm outside doing lawn or car stuff. I bring you with me in the car whenever I can, we walk the Trail almost every evening, longer and sometimes twice a day on the weekends-do you even remember the last time we missed our walk?"
Three weeks ago last Friday when-
"So you see, I'm doing the best I can."
This is not about you, it's about me finding myself.
"Wait, is this about you wanting to go outside? You're always
trying to trick me into-"
That hurts, father. I just want to discover what it is to be canine. Can I help it if that can only be realized out of doors?
"So this IS about you wanting to go out?"
Oh, the pain of it all!
"Okay, okay. Would it help if we went out back to toss the ball
around?"
Oh, could we, father?
"Ya, if you stop calling me that, but remember, I'm watching the football game in half an hour. Promise you won't make a scene when it's time to come in, or look around all confused like you don't know who's calling your name."
Your wish, etc. Now, I have only one more thing to say: What's
with football? Three hours your stress levels are through the roof-think I don't feel that? It's such a waste of time, and not healthy for you.
"Not as healthy as, say, three hours outside?"
I'm just saying...

"Contemplate the Name yourself; inspire it to others;
By attending to it, discoursing of it, living by it, obtain liberation.
The true essence, eternal is the Lord's Name:
By spontaneous devotion, says Nanak, chant the Lord's praise."
(Guru Granth Sahib Adi Granth)
This image was shot last Friday at the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib which is located near Connaught Place in Delhi.
It was at sunset, those two young men were praying facing the Temple.
I took several pictures that I showed them after.

Loch Lomond, Scotland.
beautiful winter afternoon at loch lomond, attracted by the light, and the layers of the silhouetted hills.
In modern zoos, very often thick panes of glass are used to separate the animals from the visitors, thus allowing both to get very close to each other. For photographers this is not necessarily a good thing because depending on the kind of glass that was used as well as its thickness, this can cause severe focussing issues for camera, as you can see in this photo.
I have taken dozens of images of this bonobo and got only three that were actually usable (but still far from perfect). But the facial expressions of this guy are quite cool, so I decided to post them anyway.
Enjoy!
