A Horned Grebe muses before its next dive, interesting to see how many of these little Grebes spend so much time alone

flick just erased my description and my title. grrrr...

I'll try again.

I wake each morning smelling slightly of dog.

and then I look at the day forward and decide what I might do.

friday, after breakfast out, we run our errands, and then arrive home to dogs who act like we might never return, leaving them to eat dirt and drink out of the toilets.

out to the field.

after some piddling in the garden, and after lunch, I come upstairs to my room to read. and I see three sleeping dogs in the sun after running themselves silly outside.

they rest peacefully at the end of this year, waiting for the beginning of the next.

A bride in a contemplative pose in front of a huge 10 foot window. The natural light from the window was the only illumination. The back of her dress is highlighted from light reflecting off a white wall behind her. Hers was one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I've ever seen.

Been out doing some winter camping and hiking.

Happy New Year to all.

Outtake from today's 365 shots, I took 2 series of 5 shots.

This was my original choice, but I preferred the final choice in the smaller size

This was taken from up on the stepps of the National Theatre on the south bank in London, I just love the link between the person and the bike connected by the railing and it's shadow!

A very calm December day at my favorite beach. It didn't feel much like Christmas in mid-winter.

Time to myself the thoughts in my head control me...what now....

As you can see by her lean, she wanted to jump off. But nope, I made to stay on the rock so I could get a decent capture.

One place you might hope to find solitude and the mental room for contemplation is at a museum or art gallery.....places that seem to demand a different kind of behavior than in a restaurant or a mall or other bustling public space. This couple sits quietly, speechless, as they examine and contemplate a painting at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art.
