One place you might hope to find solitude and the mental room for contemplation is at a museum or art gallery.....places that seem to demand a different kind of behavior than in a restaurant or a mall or other bustling public space. This couple sits quietly, speechless, as they examine and contemplate a painting at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art.

Playa Barrika, on the rugged and beautiful Basque coast ... the wind was invigorating and the waves were relentless and powerful, mostly obscuring the remarkable Flysch rock formations at high tide.
