one of the local caretakers of the grandeur named the taj. he comes to the taj every day in the afternoon, sits lonely and performs a silent prayer.
I have been playing about with the Monochrome vol 2 LR presets from www.olivejuiceshoppe.com. For this photo I used "bw [juno]" with "tint [sand]".
Lighting is from the window, hence the high ISO and therefore noise/grain.
Two Razorbills performing a courtship display at the Bird Rock lookout on Cape St. Mary's Ecological
Reserve along the Avalon Peninsula about two hours south of St. John's Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Newfoundland hunters called Razorbills “tinkers,” the local pronunciation of “thinkers.” They were given this name because during courtship displays, males hold their bills vertically, appearing to contemplate the heavens. How interesting! One observes this behavior in the photo! Razorbill’s black and white markings are dramatic, beautiful and distinctive. Want more interesting Razorbill facts?

When feeding young, they may travel over 60 miles on foraging flights.
When Razorbill chicks leave the nest, at about 20 days of age, it’s a leap of faith. They don’t yet have fully developed wing feathers, so they jump—often hundreds of feet—to the sea below, fluttering their wings to slow their descent. The male parent guides them to sea and feeds them until they are independent.
It uses its sharp, hatchet-shaped bill to catch fish underwater, sometimes diving to 330 feet.

Cadillac Mountain is the highest coastal point on the East Coast of the United States, at 1,532 feet (~500m). Thousands ascend by car to the mountain's summit to see what they believe is the United States first sunrise and to see the rest of the island.
Slow down, take a deep breath and just contemplate the beauty of big white clouds hanging over the sea. This view gives me a great sense of peace.
The view's not so bad from there, but you can do it from any position. The formalities aren't all so necessary.
Inspired about how often people sit on the couch (or sofa) especially during the period of lockdown. Previously it was seen as a place of comfort and rest but now it feels like a trap or prison.
Our lovely holiday in Hickling seems like an age away now. Since our return home, Oldmangellyroo's health has not been at all good (a dicky ticker!) and he is now in hospital, so if you're wondering why I haven't been posting, or been out and about taking snaps then this is why. Probably comments and faves on your photos have been a bit random too, so apologies. Hopefully normal service will be returned in the future! Meanwhile, happy memories!
