I only partially filled my 64GB SD card with Cardinal shots this morning - that's what happens when you get me out in the snow. I'll try not to post all of them, but then again there's no guarantee on that 😁.
Cascade on Lee Vining Creek, Sierra Nevadas
Here's a 3rd image taken on a snowy day in October along Lee Vining Creek. It's amazing how calming a water flow can be, a very pleasant distraction from the stresses of life.
Enjoy a little peace for a moment.
Thanks for your visit!

(Sound of Clancy sighing)
Dad?
"Hmmm."
Dad.
(Sound of Dad's newspaper)
"What is it, Clancy?"
Dad, why is the sky blue?
"Haha. Well, the sky is blue as a result of the
scattering of light rays which reflect the
blue end of the spectrum. It's fascinating, really."
Uh huh. And why do baby deer have spots?
"They're an environmental, hereditary, camouflagic
protection. Mother Nature protecting her young,
so to speak. She's quite amazing, don't you think?"
You bet. And how do birds fly?
"Their wing shapes give them lift and their
flapping gives them momentum. The natural world,
my boy, is truly awesome!"
Wow, sure is. Hey, wanna go outside again?
"Outside? You know, that sounds like a great idea.
Let's go!"
(Clancy, thinking)
Heh heh, like taking treats from a puppy.

Sasha the Vizsla was the subject of my high-ISO experiment. This is really my first attempt at making any keeper photos at higher ISO settings. Until I read this, I thought that higher ISO settings were only for D3/D300 owners.

Orang Utans share 97% with us. They are intelligent, know how to use tools and sometimes I think they have a greater share of social consciousness than we do.
A day out with my Minolta X-700 and trying out Fomapan 400 for the first time. Good contrast and nice grain, I like it :)

This and the following three photos appear in this week's North Hawaii News, published this morning.
These images were in support of a story about an open house event held at the W.M. Keck Observatory headquarters in Waimea (Kamuela) this past Sunday. The story was written by Meredith Wertz.

An amazing area to explore in the Coyote Buttes area of the Vermillion Cliffs national monument in northern Arizona. "The Wave" seen here is a delicate area of sublime colors and shapes. The BLM only allows 20 permits per day for hikers because the rock formations are quite fragile. We were treated to misty rains this day which made the rock colors even more saturated. The drizzle also enhanced the delicious aromas of desert herbs.
