"Where you believe there is magic...you will find it."

Some of my ancestors passed through, and lived close by here in the early 1800's. There are a few locations named for them south of here, Turk Gap, and Turk Mountain. I hope to check that area out the next time I'm in the area.

Camera: Nikon F90X with the AF Nikkor 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D lens with an orange filter.

Film: Agfa APX 400 Professional

Processing: Walkens House of Film, Melbourne, Australia with the Noritsu scanner.

I may have just found my favourite film stock in this series of photographs taken recently in Hobart. I was excited to give the new Agfa a try, and bought a roll of Agfa APX 400 Professional film. The 400 ISO gives you more flexibility in differing light conditions, though I think I would probably go with Agfa APX 100 Professional in the future. 36 shots in the roll might also be a little too many, though I have to say it only took me an afternoon to get every exposure.

I'll leave you to judge the results over the coming days, but to me the contrast was excellent and the grain reasonable for 400 film. I have no complaints as every shot was perfectly exposed with an orange filter. In this shot of local street art I can honestly say it is better than anything I could get from a converted RAW file with my digital Nikon D850. Not bad from a camera that dates from 1994.

I am delighted to see the famous name of Agfa Photo reappearing on the film photography landscape once again. Further evidence that film is back!

This was shot at a shutter speed of 1.3 seconds. Luckily, he didn't move (lazy bastard). :-)

I’m a dog person. I’ve never liked cats, until I saw her. My friends got Naz as a kitten very recently, and I fell in love with her. She is a pure bundle of purrrrs and so soft and lazy, as I am. I think we are a good match, I could pet her all day and she could be petted all day. Have a purrrrfect Wednesday dear friends. 😻

Back from our Berlin journey! As we took the plane at Zaventem airport, we decided to spend a day in Brussels.

This is a view of the city hall on the market place (La grand place).

Lot of moving people but the 1100D don't like high ISO, so a hard choice to do between high aperture & high shutter speed or small aperture & low shutter speed which it's the choice i've done, maybe not the correct one :-(

The woman contemplating the building didn't move for at least 1 minute, a longer exposure would have be nice to blur the moving people, contrasting with her immobility... but I left my tripod at home!

anyone else guilty of overthinking?

Sunday morning is a great time to find a beautiful spot, take some time and contemplate the view. Especially in the summer sunshine.

pondering the gift she offered him

More than once, it was freely offered.

A gift that transcends to the real world.

Of mind, body and soul,

that would lock them together even more.

Yet seemingly forgotten, this gift she freely gave.

..... maybe it wasn't wanted.

I often go to a park where a wonderful woman comes to feed the birds daily. She leaves peanuts for the Scrub Jays giving me an opportunity to take photos of them.

Island Pond in a somber sunset mood....

It was a fine afternoon in Dayra camp in Noweba, Egypt, great weather with lots sunshine.

As I was relaxing on the beach came this sun kissed man with his boat and he just stood there waiting with no emotions on his face like he was waiting for forever.

This image is one of my favorite from the Noweba trip and I hope you can see it through my eyes
