When I cannot sleep I slip down to the ocean. Thinking of you, hoping you are ok. You will always be in my heart.

I tried some long exposures with an old Canon film camera. I got in this shot and I liked the way it turned out! "C" for 26FILM group.

It might be delicious. It certainly is...nostalgic.

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” ~Anne Frank

Sometimes I feel folks focus far to much time and energy in the wrong directions. Sometimes the focus is on worry about the future, or sorrow about the past; things they have no control over.

If instead, one looks to the here and now and takes in the beauty that surrounds them - peace can be found.

To be happy is a choice and I am happy. Even with all the craziness of 2020, I have had a wonderful time. I’ve been able to see more of my crazy kiddos. I’ve been able to take a few more images than normal. I’ve been forced to think inside the box (quarantine). There is lots of beauty still left all around me everywhere I look. Sometimes it takes some solitude and moments to reflect to really see it. To shine a light on it.

My next voyage will take a little longer and I will visit more ports than this trip. Early January I will be sailing west from Amsterdam.

Camera: Nikon F90X with the AF Nikkor 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D lens with an orange filter.

Film: Agfa APX 400 Professional

Processing: Walkens House of Film, Melbourne, Australia with the Noritsu scanner.

I may have just found my favourite film stock in this series of photographs taken recently in Hobart. I was excited to give the new Agfa a try, and bought a roll of Agfa APX 400 Professional film. The 400 ISO gives you more flexibility in differing light conditions, though I think I would probably go with Agfa APX 100 Professional in the future. 36 shots in the roll might also be a little too many, though I have to say it only took me an afternoon to get every exposure.

I'll leave you to judge the results over the coming days, but to me the contrast was excellent and the grain reasonable for 400 film. I have no complaints as every shot was perfectly exposed with an orange filter. In this shot of local street art I can honestly say it is better than anything I could get from a converted RAW file with my digital Nikon D850. Not bad from a camera that dates from 1994.

I am delighted to see the famous name of Agfa Photo reappearing on the film photography landscape once again. Further evidence that film is back!

Testing my new lensbaby.. this lens is wonderful, but not easy to use. Just practicing!

I welcome all tips and advice!

Paris , Bistrot spring 2010 .

Exactly one year ago, I spent the night at this stunning overlook in eastern Switzerland. I remember standing there, under the calming beauty of the night sky and thinking about what the future might bring. Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine the shape the world would be in today.

What gives me hope, is the fact that all this beauty is still there and that the lockdown showed me what is really important in life: Good health and spending time with your family and a few good friends.

You're gonna get HOW big?!

When you're old enough to breathe fire we'll have to revise the play-time ground-rules.

What? You never heard of Puff? Okay, I'll tell you, but you're gonna cry.

I find it ironic that you'll soon be breathing fire but on cold mornings you'll still have to sit in the sun to warm your blood.

How do you like your knight--rare, medium, or well-done?

Well, I hope you like dog food too, 'cause there's a HELL of a lot of THAT served around here.

I think I'll call you...Bic.
