He had an amateur face up that had started to chip when I got him to face up.
He looks so much more sultry and fairy-like now!

Iso comparison of the new Nikon D90. 200 thru 6400
Iso comparison of the new Nikon D90. 200 thru 6400
Same pumpking patch. Same girl. Same scrunchy smile. Different year.
Left taken on Oct. 30, 2004.
Right taken on Oct. 23, 2005
On the left is a the JPEG spewed from a Digital Rebel XT. On the right is the exact same photo as RAW. The XT has a mode where it will save both a JPEG and a RAW copy of any photo taken; the two images are from the same exposure. The difference is striking.
So I got out my first editions and paired them up with the new releases... Which one do you prefer? I will always choose old because of quality, and because I'm sure I'm biased.lol
I was quite curious to see how my three DSLRs compared when dealing with long exposure noise (aka thermal noise). This is not meant to be "scientific". More just a basic comparison.
All images where taken at ISO 1600. And images where taken at room temperature. And i rotated between each camera, so there was time for cool down between 120s shot and 300s shot.
The exact same settings were used in DPP for Raw conversion. White Balance was done using a 1s dark frame custom WB. This can make the photo look green.
Each row is 1s, 120s, and 300s top to bottom. Each column is the 1D Mark III, 50D, and 5D Mark II left to right.
It seems that at 120s the 50D and 5D2 both handle things quite fine, but at 300s the 5D2 goes on its head, with the 1D3 having much better control among the three.
Also the 1D3 seems to have less banding noise, with the 5D2 having banding both ways!
SO basically what camera i should use depends on how dark the subject is, and how long an exposure I can take before I get tracking problems.
While the both the 50D and 5D2 have smaller pixels, if i have to super pixel the images to reduce noise, i do loose resolution over the 1D Mark III with its 7.2 um pixels.
Definitely I'm going to try doing some shooting on the field with all three cameras to see if it really does make a big difference. But these results are interesting to say the least
Brand Identity Comparison
The key message for Suzanne Elton is happiness the key message for Willow Tree is coming out of the darkness and the key message for Clear Reflections is so far that herbs can fix you mentally. The targeted audience appears to be families for Suzanne Elton because of all the family photos she uses. In willow tree the target audience appears to be super depressed persons because of imagery and wording. Hanna’s target audience seems to be new age “hippies” or super all natural people. None of these companies have a strong wordmark or icon. I certainly don’t think they have anything timeless. Willowtree has a willow tree clipart Suzanne Elton just uses her name and titles in a “fancy” type and I don’t really see one for clear reflections. I think the current branding that Clear Reflections has is holding her back from getting clients that aren’t similar to her. It’s great that her best interest is in herbs but I think that pathway turns off other potential clients like students, and I know that she said students are part of her target market. Suzanne Elton appears to have the best visuals to go with what her market is. Everything on her site should appeal to families, which is exactly what she is seeking as a target market. I was unable to find printed materials from these companies.
David and I get in the holiday mood and make gingerbread houses - they were actually made out of graham crackers. Another comparison view of our two houses.
Comparison of the (single coated) Nippon Kogaku Japan Nikkor-N 24mm f/2.8 with the (multicoated) Nikon Nikkor-N.C 24mm f/2.8. Both have the same optical formula, only the coating is different. HN-3 hood, no filter, Nikon D90 body.
I dug out an old incandescent bulb from a dynamo bike light for comparison.
The led in the Mini Dyna Light is a Cree XPG R4, with should give well over 200 lumens at the rated current of my dynamo. The optics are not ideal, but its still at least an order of magnitude difference over what that incandescent bulb bulb next to it can generate.
Sochi, Russia will be hosting the Olympics with over 98 events in 10 venues, divided among 15 sports. The first Winter Olympics was held in Chamonix, France, in the year 1924. Alpine skiing, figure skating, ice hockey and speed skating were some of the original sports held at this Olympics.
Initially, the Summer and Winter Olympics took place in the same year, but after a decision taken by the International Olympics Committee in 1986 changed such framework. From 1992 the Winter and Summer Olympics games were place on separate four-year cycles in alternating even-numbered years.
