Totally didn't realize that I didn't upload my box opening + comparisons onto Flickr.

Quick shot of my Latiblue and Unoa with the Narin. Shows how tall they are compared to each other when they sit.

I got asked to take comparison photo between this new light violet that my silky is, and between soom white skin. Sadly, i don't have new white skin, only very old ones, as if original Ai and Beyla. But I decided to compare all teenie gem colours I have. As in, there's now old white skin, new light violet, old gray skin from original bygg, and old snow blue from original taco :)

McDonald's sign on Warrigal Road, Holmesglen. I love looking at the stark contrast of the red, white and yellow against the black velvet night sky every night on my way home! Finally, a camera that takes a photo that approaches what I see.

Unfortunately for McDonald's, I haven't set foot in a store for at least 6 months!

Night shot comparison of the the Sony Ericsson K700i phone camera, the 8 megapixel Casio Exilim Z850 and our old 3 megapixel Casio Exilim Z3.

The metering algorithm must have improved in the 3 years between the Z3 and the Z850! :)

Updated 2008.05.09: This is what it looks like during the day: Upgrades complete - McDonalds Holmesglen

This is what it looks like with my Sony Ericsson K850i:

- McDonalds Holmesglen at dusk - auto

- McDonalds Holmesglen at dusk - night shot

Update 2009.05.01:

- McDonalds Holmesglen - Nikon D60 No-Flash

Comparison with original iPhone 3G box. Much smaller now - Apple are really going mad for this eco-packaging.

Comparing the Canon S100 and the Panasonic GX1. Close up shot. Relatively same focal length and aperture on ISO 200. The GX1 shot is a bit noisy because I "pulled" the background, which was a bit underexposed, in order to show the DOF on both. As requested by someone.

A comparison of the two records.

"In The House" Tenzin's silver record is on the right.

"Glitter and Gold" Jem's / "Starstruck" Jem's gold record is on the left.

Another shot in my series of experimentation with image stacking. This was shot has no artistic value but demonstrates the potential of this method to replicate the effect of a heavy ND filter without getting colour casts and potentially with sharper non-moving objects through use of a higher shutter speed.

This comparison shows a quick 5 shot stack (on the left) and an individual image on the right.

I took this sequence of 5 shots hand held over about 12 seconds i.e. one shot every 3 seconds.

Clearly the results would be better with a tripod and shutter release to avoid movement of the framing between shots.

I can see that maybe 5-10 shots over what ever time interval you want to replicate could easily replicate the effects of a 10 stop filter with some ancillary benefits as follows:

- use of higher shutter speed means less chance for camera movement and loss of sharpness

- higher shutter speed means tha moving objects (like cars) could be captured. It may be possible to stack shots to captur a trail ofa moving car. This is something the ND filter generally can't achieve as the car flashing through the scene won't give enough light to register (unlike on a night time long exposure). This is both a positive and negative aspect.

I would be keen to trial the concept of capturing car trails during daylight and similarly something like ferry trails on the harbour whilst having long exposure water and full daylight.

The same principals could be applied to seascapes and wave motion.

A simple comparison shot between my two latest DCUC Figure acquisitions and my current DCSH figures.

The DCUC Line supersedes the previous line but the scale remains the same so they are compatible.

A comparison of the popular "current" 1/72 Tomcat models to look at shape etc. Academy still seems to be the best.

Comparison of the two Jacksons. I really am not sure about basic Jackson. The hairstyle looks as though he's just had two sizes of pudding basin plonked on his head, and the yellow looks dyed, like some kind of colour slice. Added to which, he is shedding bits of hair all the time, as though he had the haircut this morning!! At least GB Jackson's hair looks a bit more styled.

Both dolls are Volks SD-01, "Four Sisters". I love capturing how the same doll looks so different with a change of wigs and/or make-up.

My doll (on the right) was an FCS, and she's wearing another Val Zeitler outfit. It doesn't really fit the SD-10 body ~ but you can't tell from the front. Boots from Mimiwoo, BTW.

No extender.

By comparison, the R1 PCB had fewer, larger components, and placed all the logic at the far edge of the board above the Function row. The R1 also had superior cabling: the cable casing was screwed to the plate frame, and the signal lines have a ferrite bead!

Here's just a quick comparison of some of the different slide films I cross processed when I developed color film the other day. They were developed in pretty much the same manner - using a Unicolor C-41 kit with the same times and temps.

On the left side is the way the film scanned in the Epson V500 without any color correction, and on the right side is the way the films look after they've been inverted in Photoshop and had their levels adjusted to achieve more contrast.

If I would have been really cool, I would have taken a picture of the same subject using the same camera with all the different films, but that wasn't possible (and I don't care that much). Just thought it was interesting how drastically different the negative colorations came out. I'd also be interested in seeing if the film format alters the color of the negative, too - if 35mm Fuji Velvia comes out the same as the 4x5 sheet film.

Here's a resin comparison with all the different colors in my house right now.

The best match, both in person and in the photo in any light, is Leekeworld NS with Iplehouse NS. Luts NS is an acceptable match for Leeke, although it's slightly yellower IRL (not quite as pronounced as in the photo).
