What does Anker mean? Good question. Anker is the name of the Insurance company that owns the building where the clock is.
At noon twelve figures representing the history of Vienna (from the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius to Joseph Haydn) move across the face of the clock. Every hour one of these figures (or a pair of figures) is displayed. The clock was created in 1911 by Franz von Matsch.
Dreikönigskirche (Church of the Three Magi), originally built in the 15th century and rebuilt in the late 1980s after it was destroyed during the Second World War.
Clock outside the Neshoba County courthouse in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
The courthouse had been recently renovated, and this new clock was a very classy looking addition.

it has always disturbed me a little several times each day that a clock with a smile on it can look so sinister.
i suppose it's true that sometimes "now" just isn't the best time...

It's hard to take pictures of this thing without reflections. The picture frame glass is not anti-glare.
The Prague astronomical clock, or Prague orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still working.
The Orloj is mounted on the southern wall of Old Town Hall in the Old Town Square. The clock mechanism itself is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures—notably a figure of Death (represented by a skeleton) striking the time; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months. According to local legend, the city will suffer if the clock is neglected and its good operation is placed in jeopardy.
The clock tower in Thimphu. It's a bit of an anti climax, but was impressing none the less. There was a program going on, and some renovations as well.

Now that I think about it, it's not like the clip frames are sealed or anything, so I guess I have the option of rotating this "collection" if the spirit moves me.

Whilst in Disneyland this past summer I passed by the awesome Disney clock of magical wonders... or whatever they call it.
Every hour this contraption of awesome visual splendor starts winding round and spinning into all kinds of fabulously cool angles that made me, as a photog... go ooooooh ahhhhhhh *click click click*
The quasi-religious disney music pumping out from all around was truly a wonder to behold.
The little ditty went something like this;
Happy world land, happy world land,
Where the fun doesn't stop at only eighty bucks a pop
in beautiful happy world laaaaaaand!!
Giant Black Forest wooden longcase cuckoo clock at SteigenHaus, Hofgut Sternen.
The famous cuckoo call comes from an age-old mechanical device that resembles a pair of miniature organ pipes.

Fortunate to catch this with the clock refracted pretty full in the water drop. It goes to say there's a hundred others where I missed the drop completely!! The clock is about two feet away from the camera (and upside down so the image appears upright in the drop, the water's dropped from a small eye dropper)
Inside Normansfield clock tower.
Someone had removed the clocks workings and they lay on the roof, the hospital closed in 1997 yet was still in fairly good condition back in 2005. Back then the clock still worked! Nowerdays the building is in very bad condition, floors are very unsafe and internaly part are verging on collapse.

Many visitors to Conwy don't realise the church is central to the town, but is not easily seen unless you go up a narrow alley. This is the clock at the top of the unusual tower.
