At Etch we are constantly creating new ideas for potential new products as we don't believe a business should hold back on venturing into new territories. What do you think of this new clock design, should we create a range?

Clock Tower square, Norzin Lam, Thimphu

Clock Tower Square has a tower with four clock faces located in Thimphu, capital of Bhutan. It is a famously known landmark in Thimphu. There are many shops, hotels and restaurants surrounding the square.

The clock tower square is located below Norzin Lam, Thimphu above the national football stadium in the heart of the capital.

The Clock-tower has a typical Bhutanese architectural outlook with rich Bhutanese carvings and paintings. There are traditional hand crafted dragon with golden painting on all the four faces of the tower which symbolizes the county as an independent dragon kingdom. The tower has beautiful paintings and carvings of flowers which add more magnificence to the tower. The shops, restaurants and hotels in the clock tower square have a blend of fine traditional and modern architectural Bhutanese design with multi-coloured wood frontages, small arched windows, and sloping roofs. The buildings around the square are all small three storied structures.

Day 50 Sunday July 3 2011 -This clock in Luverne Ala.says they are the friendliest city in the South. I don't know if they are the friendliest or not but I do think they have the prettiest clock of any that I have seen in the south.

Nope.. not mine :-( It's made from an old EF lens.

I like how there is dust in the front element.

Victoria Clock - Six Sided Clock - The Victoria Tower, Salisbury Dock, by Jesse Hartley, is dated 1848. It is constructed of granite of irregular shaped blocks and takes the form of an octagon with a high tapered circular base which is pierced by round arched openings. Above the base is a string moulding and narrow slits at the first floor below a continuous balcony carried on stone brackets. Higher again are eight circular clock faces and long open slits and round eyes at the top. The tower is crowned by a projecting castellated parapet carried on corbels.

I used an old Canon optical image stabilizer lens [EF-S 17-85mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM] on an EOS 450D DSLR. With exposures of up to a 1/4 of a second, most of the images had to be discarded, and the remainder are very "grainy" / "noisy", but the pictures at least form a sort of record of the event...

The Black Forest region is famous for its native crafts, including all kinds of cuckoo clocks.

My girlfriend was given a collection of clock parts. I can't wait to get started on a steam punk project!

A small strip mall was built near me about ten years ago. The "tower" isn't much of a tower, but there is a clock that used to tell the correct time. Neither it nor the one on the sign was correct when I went past them today.

The clock tower stands in Market Square on the site of Chesham’s 18th Century Town Hall, which was demolished in 1965. The clock tower was constructed in 1992 using locally-produced bricks. It is similar in appearance to the clock turret that was added to the original Town Hall in the 19th century and features the original glass-dialled clock. The clock mechanism, dating from the mid-19th century, was restored by the town council.

Now, just to find/build a suitable case for it.....

The V&A Waterfront Clock Tower is situated in the Cape Town harbour close by to the site of the original Bertie's Landing Restaurant. This red and white building is instantly recognisable by its Victorian Gothic-style architecture has always been an icon of the old docks and has become an important focal point in the Waterfront's recent urban design. Much of its charm lies in the fact that this busy commercial harbour is set in the midst of a huge entertainment venue with waterfront restaurants, specialty shops, craft markets, theatres and movies.

I had this old clock case, an 8-day movement and some other bits and put them together. Mystery surrounds the 'CALEDONIAN REGISTERED' movements, possibly made in Birmingham around 1880. I thought it looked nice and deserved to be seen.
