NS 273 finish's building his train in portlock and begins to crawl west out of portlock. 276 brought in some nice power this morning with a Union Pacific AC60CW, a Canadian National SD75I, and a rebuild Union Pacific AC44CW. i had a gut feeling that they were going to flip the power and immediately put it on a west bound witch prove to be right.
I would like to make it very clear, yes this is a NS road. I don't condone trespassing but I wanted to run down the road real quick to see this train. Trespass at your own risk and i don't think less of you if you do, but i recommend to not follow in my footsteps.
NV01 crawls out of portlock onto the Y with a brand new SD40 for the area #3457. The lone SD40 is seen here on Hoover Ave and approaches Carolina Junction. Really funny that NS just randomly gave this unit a admiral cab for no reason, wasn't even a highhood lol.
NS 273 clears Yadkin with a D9-44CW leading a H2 SD70Mac. Never new if i was gonna be able to see one of these things, was super glad to see one in person.
Two Norfolk Southern SD40-2 work east end Portlock yard with a former NW engine trailing.
This is a pretty rare move for the area because these SD40's normally work Lamberts point, so to see them all the way down in Portlock was a surprise

A NS highhood sits beside the Roanoke shops with a couple of grainers trailing Pretty crazy this guy still kicking around, what was even crazier was there was another highhood behind this one #5202.
NS 822 with a very long coal train with 5 engines and 250 coal car blast through Petersburg. This was a really nice train for me because i like catch the dash 9 on NS before there all AC44C6M, and had a ACe throwed in there to.

The result of Bensenville sending out an over 9000 foot train behind two SD40-2s… Two CP ES44ACs couple up to CP 6043 and train 247 at Elm Grove. The venerable EMDs stalled out on the hill here and required 541’s power to be pulled up the rest of the way.
An eastbound CSX freight with a long line of loaded Autoracks passes the Brunswick station.

This was a good train for me to go out on but im currently unable to take trips has for right now. Today i got in a car accident and wrecked the front of my car. Very upset about but thankful im ok. i hope to get back to posting as soon as possible but will see how long it takes.
a ns hopper train begins its journey west out of Lamberts point in Downtown Norfolk with a ES44DC up front. Very rough weather today, had snow flakes almost the whole day with very harsh winds. oh well, not gonna stop me from seeing trains.

NS 820 ends its journey as it arrives in Downtown Norfolk with 134 coal cars in tow. The headend of the train is lead by a NS Dash9 and the Central of Georgia trailing.
NS 278 is entering Portlock yard with BNSF 8791 and NS 9485 pulling it into the yard. This train went through Petersburg at 10:00 in the morning and i was able to still catch this train a 3:00 in the afternoon. Another thing to note is the 94 series dash 9 trailing behind the ACe, at the time of writing this, there are not a lot of these left, could possibly be the last one I ever see. So I made sure to take in the moment.
NS 279 (EX 22A) fly's past Yadkin road with a BNSF ACe #8576 leading up front. Right behind him is KCS ES44AC #4812 and NS D9-44CW #9814. Super cool train to see here on the Norfolk Sub. I've been railfanning sense 2019 and in that time I've never seen a KCS engine get this far east. Love this shot and the look of the consist.

With main 2 out of service because of bridge 7 needed maintenance, trains on the Norfolk sub have to share main 1 for the next couple of weeks. Here we have 29G clearing Bridge 7 and heading over Shell road with #8033 leading 4 other engines. Down at canal waits I34 for main 1 to be clear and cross over bridge 7 on main 1
