This NS SD is seen here pulling a cut in Enola yard on Memorial Day Weekend.
NS 6302, now an SD40E, is ex-NS SD50 6512 and spent a lot of time in the helper pool around Altoona.

Just to the East of Hershey Park, there is a small railyard with lots of freight cars for Hershey Foods. But the mainline is where the action really heats up as seen with this passing high-seed intermodal freight.
A westbound intermodal passes Duncannon station on the Pittsburgh line.

This westbound freight got some helpers on the headend (seen here) as well as the rear. The photo was taken at the world-famous Horseshoe Curve.
Due to work in a tunnel, CSX has been detouring several trains per day over NS. I finally caught one of them headed East on the Harrisburg line in Hummelstown, PA.
Too bad I couldn't catch one with the sun on the nose.

NS 50X sits in the Roanoke south yard with a SD70ACe and a SD70ACC trailing. very cool to see a modern EMD consist together, something you don't see every day.

A NS loaded coal train finally makes it to Lambert's Point in Downtown Norfolk with a classy white stripe dash 9 leading.
RBMN's NRFF runs through Penobscot with a 7 engine consist including the EX NPBL 5259 which is a personal favorite of mine.
The Pennsylvania Railroad heritage unit passes the former Pennsylvania Railroad "Highline" station in Greencastle.
NS 276 starts to pull out of the swamp at Yadkin with a ACC leading up front from Chicago. I actually brought a school friend with to see this train. He's getting into railfanning and I wanted him to catch his first heritage unit. He had a blast and I hope he ends up coming with me more often.
NS local NV03 sits on Seaboard ave with #3220 at the lead. I've only seen this move twice and I wasn't even expecting it. I was on my way home and then I saw the gates were down and stop to see what it was. had a very friendly crew as well.
Well, Im back in Roanoke and i can't be happier. I plan to go for many shots and see new things. I have so many things i want to post now but its only day one and i rather save them for later ;)
Anyways, here NS 234 begining to leave Roanoke with 4332 leading bound to Portlock

Unlike my last post, i don't know the symbol for this train but it doesn't really matter because i was just happy to see a train on this curve. Pretty obvious that im not to familiar with looking for trains in the North Carolina area, so when i was searching through google maps and saw this curve i knew i wanted to shoot it and i think the results speak for themself.
NS 228 sits at canal drive with Monongahela trailling second. the crew was waitting for bridge 7 to come down so they could clear to portlock.

NPBL NB06 crawls out of berkeley yard with NPBL 5260 heading to portlock. She was screaming in notch 8 and still only going 3 mph
NS 825 begins its trip west and clears through Harbor Park in Norfolk Virginia with a brand new AC44C6M.
M41006 is seen here waiting for clearance out of Acca yard in Richmond, Virginia. Obviously the star of the show is CSX's newest heritage unit ,at the time of this post, the Conrail heritage unit leading the way to Selkirk, New York.
NS NV03 comes around the diamond into Portlock with NS 6110 passing my brand to car. My dream car has always been a mini cooper, i don't know why but it always has and I've finally got one to boast with it. It is a stick but i learned how to drive just so i could get it lol.
A NS manifest waits on Fort Rd outside of Rockwood Michigan with a BNSF C4 Gevo leading a NS SD40-2. I ended coming to this spot a lot, whenever i came back here a new power set would be sitting here and was also very easy to chase.

First train I've ever gotten in Suffolk, here we have CSX I136 with 3194 on the Commonwealth. First ever speical paint CSX engine ive ever seen and was super cool to see one in person. 1/3
8/31/2021 - NKP 765 pauses in the CSX Yard in "The Flats" or the suburb of Tremont in Cleveland OH awaiting to get clearance to head down to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for the annual Steam In The Valley Event in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Here NS 271 clearing liberty street in South Norfolk around sun set. Two west coast visitor are leading today with a BNSF H2 D9-44CW leading a UP SD70ACe trailing. Another thing to note is that are good friend Chelsea was on board today with this train, Chelsea is a well know conductor in the area and gives frequent heads ups on trains she takes to Norfolk.
