NS 4545 is the lone leader (there was a DPU on the end) of a mixed freight down the Lurgan on July 4th.

I finally caught a train over the bridge in decent light. It was a WB, when I would rather have an EB in this light, but for now I'll take it.
Of note is that the containers at the head end are hauling trash.

CSX i136 heads out of Cumberland, MD with a fresh crew on board. CSX 3091 leads today and is bound for Portsmouth, VA
CP 6043 sits stalled on the hill at Elm Grove with an over 9000 foot 247. Somehow the train escaped Bensenville with only two SD40-2s for power. I’m not sure what they expected to happen.
Just to the East of Hershey Park, there is a small railyard with lots of freight cars for Hershey Foods. But the mainline is where the action really heats up as seen with this passing high-seed intermodal freight.
Empty hopper train NS 776 heads West down the Lurgan Branch. NS 1060 is the leader with NS 4290 (seen here) as the helper on the rear.
A NS loaded coal train finally makes it to Lambert's Point in Downtown Norfolk with a classy white stripe dash 9 leading.
RBMN's NRFF runs through Penobscot with a 7 engine consist including the EX NPBL 5259 which is a personal favorite of mine.
The Pennsylvania Railroad heritage unit passes the former Pennsylvania Railroad "Highline" station in Greencastle.
NS 824 is leaded by NS 9839 on a nice spring afternoon as it cuts through the curve approaching's Portlock yard.
NS 276 starts to pull out of the swamp at Yadkin with a ACC leading up front from Chicago. I actually brought a school friend with to see this train. He's getting into railfanning and I wanted him to catch his first heritage unit. He had a blast and I hope he ends up coming with me more often.
This westbound freight got some helpers on the headend (seen here) as well as the rear. The photo was taken at the world-famous Horseshoe Curve.
NS local NV03 sits on Seaboard ave with #3220 at the lead. I've only seen this move twice and I wasn't even expecting it. I was on my way home and then I saw the gates were down and stop to see what it was. had a very friendly crew as well.
NS 50X sits in the Roanoke south yard with a SD70ACe and a SD70ACC trailing. very cool to see a modern EMD consist together, something you don't see every day.

Unlike my last post, i don't know the symbol for this train but it doesn't really matter because i was just happy to see a train on this curve. Pretty obvious that im not to familiar with looking for trains in the North Carolina area, so when i was searching through google maps and saw this curve i knew i wanted to shoot it and i think the results speak for themself.
NS 228 sits at canal drive with Monongahela trailling second. the crew was waitting for bridge 7 to come down so they could clear to portlock.

A scene that will soon be lost to time, a trio of AC44s make a beeline through west Springfield yard.
NPBL NB06 crawls out of berkeley yard with NPBL 5260 heading to portlock. She was screaming in notch 8 and still only going 3 mph
This NS SD is seen here pulling a cut in Enola yard on Memorial Day Weekend.
NS 6302, now an SD40E, is ex-NS SD50 6512 and spent a lot of time in the helper pool around Altoona.

NS 825 begins its trip west and clears through Harbor Park in Norfolk Virginia with a brand new AC44C6M.
A NS manifest waits on Fort Rd outside of Rockwood Michigan with a BNSF C4 Gevo leading a NS SD40-2. I ended coming to this spot a lot, whenever i came back here a new power set would be sitting here and was also very easy to chase.
A westbound intermodal passes Duncannon station on the Pittsburgh line.

First train I've ever gotten in Suffolk, here we have CSX I136 with 3194 on the Commonwealth. First ever speical paint CSX engine ive ever seen and was super cool to see one in person. 1/3
8/31/2021 - NKP 765 pauses in the CSX Yard in "The Flats" or the suburb of Tremont in Cleveland OH awaiting to get clearance to head down to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for the annual Steam In The Valley Event in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The NIT trains are always a unique catch to see on the Norfolk sub. One locomotive pulling a full size stack train down a branch line is to common these days. Goal is to eventually try and shot these trains deeper in Norfolk, Virginia to see them making their way downtown but they’re not the easiest to see. The old ford plant tends to be the best spot to have good fortune with catching these trains, hence why most of my shots would be located here.
