British Rail Class 37 No. 37215 passing Cheltenham Racecourse Signal Box on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway on 7th April 2024. This diesel-electric locomotive is also known as the English Electric Type 3.
The signal box was opened in 2005 to control the signals and point work around the station.
Another photo from the archives. Winter has only just begun and, for some reason, I was drawn to this image that was captured from the sunny beach at La Jolla, California, in February of 2012.

The McChrystal MBT has been a relative success with allied nations. However, it's role has been demoted to a "Support" tank. Therefore, Europe and N. America both needed a new MBT. This time, the engineers at PHI have gone all out.
Main weapons systems including a 150MM main gun (which could be replaced with a rail gun), a 40MM coaxial gun located directly below the main cannon, and a high-powered 50 Cal machine gun mounted on the turret. The turret also houses a twin rocket launcher, with an automatic loading system.
Yeah, we here at PHI take the idea of "Main" battle tank seriously.
700054 races away from Downham Market, with the 2T92 1621 Cambridge to King's Lynn Great Northern service - 12/03/2021.
Attempt number two at a Class 700 on my local King's Lynn line & this one is a considerable improvement on yesterday.
Heavy drone carriers of the 'Avari-Class' are state of the art low signature combat carriers.
When it was intorduced there was confusion over whether the carrier or the drones it was carrying were heavy... Once in use everything cleared up; both drones and the carrier itself are heavy! It features a massive side-open maintenance bay and 2 front launch bays. A small Cargo area and even a refining dock for sustainability beyond enemy lines.
Appart from its squads of drones, it features 8 capital torpedo launchers mounted sideways in the front of the hull.

My entry for this 2016 edition of Shiptember.
Thing were a little rushed as this was built while moving to a new house. Build time was spread over 9 or 10 days roughly ... early in september with yesterday finishing the rear section in a hurry to take the pictures and quickly edit today.
It is 145 studs long (116cm) and features a large (provocatively and probably-disqualifying) amount of megablocks and printed parts (mostly tiles), both in a dark olive military color.

Here is my version of the GWR Class 1366. I did previously tease this with the pannier photo. I wanted larger tanks on the main pannier to have the 1366 tanks to be smaller, to more appropriate size. I am unhappy with the valve gear and rods, also this just seems so bare and missing something. I just can't put my finger on it.

The classic Theory of the Leisure Class (1899) by the Norvegian-American sociologist and economist Thorstein Veblen is certainly still relevant today, perhaps even more so than a century ago, and not only in the western world...
