- www.kevin-palmer.com - This was the one of the false summits south of Coyote Mountain. I was expecting a 4 mile hike to the top, but since I approached from the south it ended up being a much longer 9.5 mile hike which I wasn't prepared for.

Shows why I love having a circular polarizer on my wide angle!

Plaques on this old bank in downtown Hart identify it as the Oceana County Savings Bank, while the facade says First National Bank. As the green sign above the plaque indicates, it is now a Huntington Bank branch.

I was already running late, but chose to be a little later by trying to get this shot before I had to leave. Sometimes it seems like I always have to leave when the light is just getting good. But, I'm just happy I was able to get out today...

A beautiful day at Union Point Park. The tide was out, the birds were out and the boats were out. I'd love to do a year long timelapse of that tree and the changing weather around it.

Just got a circular polarizing filter today. Had to try it out on a friend's bike. Guess which image had the filter turned the wrong way.

I guess this is really cool... if you're into that sort of thing... Right Nils? :)

The Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 LM WR is the premium standard zoom for the Fuji X system. It has a full frame focal length equivalent of 24-84mm, meaning that it can cover everything from landscape to portraits (as you can see in this gallery). While not a perfect lens, it does most everything very well, and the images I was able to get with it really pleased me. My review coverage can be seen here:

The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 for Sony FE may be a game changer for a lot of people, offering up really fantastic image quality, quality AF in most situations, and a very nice build for an extremely good price. This is the kind of lens that could entice people over to Sony, and I'm personally a fan of the lens. If you want to know more about this exciting new lens, check out my coverage through the links below:

This is one of my favorite spots during the fall season. The buildings have been abandoned for some time, which is too bad because it looks like a beautiful place to live.

This was the first waterfall I went to upon arriving in North Carolina. The tail end of the Noreaster was still blowing through here, so I was looking for a waterfall close to the road without much hiking involved. This waterfall is a little roadside gem that is out in the middle of nowhere. It didn't look that far away on my map but it took me all of 2 hours to drive to it. Rt 19W, west of Burnsville, winds through the Cane River Valley , eventually passing this waterfall 17 miles in.

This shot was taken in summer 2008 in Iziaslav town, Ukraine. This settlement was founded in XIV century. There’re many pieces of fine architecture being misused or getting ruined without reconstruction over there, like the XV century Monastery used as a jail (at the background behind the trees)

Saturday was awesome. I mean, yes, the agreed upon meeting time was 3:45AM...but it was still all kinds of fun.

Pretty much all on time (except for me who needed some Tums after a harrowing night of America's Tacos, Killians Red and ice cream), my buddies Ken Peterson, Rick Young and Chris Frailey met me up at Carefree Highway and I-17, ready and geared up for an all-day, epic adventure in northern Arizona. The plan was to hit the ghost town of Two Guns around sunrise, shoot random stuff all morning, eat lunch and then trek out to Grand Falls for the afternoon.

And that we did and it was fantastic. Had a blast hanging out, shooting, goofing off, making fun of each other and generally being in photography heaven.

This image above looks nothing like a ghost town, although it's definitely not been lived in for awhile. The structure belongs to an old motor home camp site that was just a few hundred feet away from what remained of Two Guns.

The thing about northern Arizona are the wide open, beautifully blue skies that mix with gorgeous clouds. I rarely shoot a landscape when there aren't clouds involved and I loved the way these kind of framed the "A-Frame" structure. Like my shot on Monday of Grand Falls...this image was made possible by my handy-dandy circular polarizer.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in downtown Chicago so I walked just about everywhere. Here a few favorites from the day!

If you are ever in parts of Chicago with any type of breeze blowing from it to you, you'll get a get a good dose of its chocolate - delicious all year 'round!
