Getting desperate for titles. Shot of a Bridal shop storefront on the main street of DeLand, Florida. Combines objects in the store window with reflections of the streetscape in the windows.

My wife is graduating from the University of Kansas this May and we decided to do something fun for graduation announcements. We wanted pictures in front of the Campinile Bell tower since it's a big landmark on campus and the graduates walk under it on Commencement day. Other locations we tried were crazy windy but this one turned out pretty good.

I used a B+W Circular Polarizer to get the super blue sky and drop the exposure a bit. I had the ISO set to 250 instead of 100 because I forgot to knock it back down after my last shoot.

Strobist info:

A return trip here on Wednesday yielded some OK sunset shots but while I was there a man arrived and he walked out into the field to check it's condition. Apparently it will be cut down as soon as the ground is sufficiently dry. I asked a few questions about the field but most of what he said went right over my head. I think he said there will be rice planted here soon which cries out for some reflection shots once the field is flooded. Tried for morning light Thursday but the fog would not lift and I finally gave up.

Edit: Fri 12:35PM

OK I got the low down on what this is from my Dad.

They will grow organic rice in this field and this stuff after it is cut down and turned under, will turn to mulch and will be the only fertilizer the rice will get.

Decided to stay out of the 95 degree temps and bought a bouquet of flowers to photograph. Read to use a circular polarizer to bring up the detail on flowers in harsh light, I like the results.

A hero in frozen water

These are the same trees shown in the previous images, portrayed in quite a different way. A nearby high-pressure water pipe exploded, and the cold temperatures of the night created a fairly big layer of ice around each and every branch, well over an inch in diameter. Sadly, I don't think either will come back to life come spring.

Probably best viewed on black.

Taken essentially with the sun in front of the camera. Further worked on in post-process to enhance contrast and do other minor edits, topped off with a relatively heavy touch of flou / soft focus to yield a dreamy feeling. Or nightmarish, if you are so inclined.

Finally....sheesh...we had a little snowfall today. I think it was about 3 inches (+/-)...and it soon turned to rain.

I'm sure all my Flickr friends are a bit 'bored' with the Brandywine Creek images...lol...well...get over it! I shall move on to something else soon...but...I needed to grab a couple of snow shots to go along with all the other seasons from Hibernia County Park.

This photo is an example of why, despite hating my slim-CPL, it will remain in my bag. Look at that sky! (Love.)

This was a muddier afternoon than you can see in the photo, and Ara, Crisse, and I were all sporting mud-butt from laying in the dirt at the Wooden Shoe Tulip farm and shooting up at the gorgeous cloud and skies.

I love spring in Oregon - and I think it's just around the corner - the daffodils are about 2-3" sprouted in my neighborhood already. Crocuses are coming up, too.

We had such a spectacular fall here (the prettiest I've seen yet living here) and winter has been so, so mild...it's giving me quite the case of spring fever! BRING ON THE FLOWERS!

My fiancée and I visited New Mexico for a long weekend. We enjoy hiking and heard that Tent Rock was an must-see visit. It turns out, it is absolutely true.

Tonight's photos come from various shots of the actual Tent Rock formations from different angles.
