High on a ridge in Sibley Regional Preserve, looking southwest out over Huckleberry, Redwood Regional Park, Canyon, CA, Upper San Leandro Reservoir, Las Trampas Regional Park and the redwoods. All within minutes of downtown Oakland. www.ebparks.org/parks/sibley

Canyon, hidden in the redwoods under that finger of fog, is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, situated between Oakland and Moraga in the San Francisco Bay Area. The community is named for its location in the upper canyon of San Leandro Creek along the eastern slope of the Berkeley Hills (aka Oakland Hills).

Canyon has a colorful history. Logging camps and notorious saloons helped establish a local reputation for rowdiness in the nineteenth century. A vast forest known as the Moraga Redwoods once covered the valley that is now Canyon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canyon,_California

Early in the morning I was driving through a snow storm, later on I went to the beach to take some exposures as the storm cleared. I had been waiting to hit this area during the off season, finally was able to sneak in a session and the clouds were no coincidence. The angle of the sun dictated this particular vantage point, and I wasn't expecting to find such a decent foreground. It was really windy and cold with rough sea, and I spent a lot of time waiting for the sun to break through the clouds, but it was a fun shoot and it fell together.

I was hoping to catch some evening color during our visit to Sedona last month. One of the evenings disappoint, as a break in clouds formed on the western horizon providing those beautiful pastels. Enjoy!

The path to the Caldwell House in the Cataloochee Valley Great Smoky Mountains National Park, captured by photographer Michael Golus with his Canon 5D Mark II, a Canon 11-24mm f/4L USM lens and our WonderPana FreeArc XL filter system. Mike used our WonderPana 186mm Circular Polarizing Filter for this photo, blocking the reflection on the stream's surface to reveal the beautiful detail in the stream bed below.

According to a weather warning notice from Environment Canada, we should expect a month's worth of rain over the day today, tomorrow and Wednesday. With that in mind, my wife and I headed down the South Klondike Highway to Carcross where we wandered the big beach at Bennet Lake followed by a nice hike up the dunes at the "world's smallest desert." It was while walking around the latter, that I came across this beautiful hillock of blooming wild lupine.

It was a wet day, but we were treated to all sorts of natural beauty!

Lush ferns adorn the banks of Blue Hen Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in northeast Ohio.

A proper look at that sunset I was talking about in my previous upload.

Here you can see the London Eye and the St George Wharf Tower (Vauxhall tower) is far left.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Anyone has attempted this shot from this location during the spring knows the challenge of keeping the lens dry. I've done this hike a few times and got soaked every single time. They don't call it the "Mist Trail" for nothing.

Another view of the weir at the ruined Cramond Mill on the River Almond, Edinburgh, Scotland.

From this angle it can be seen that the weir has a gentle curve onto which folk have tossed coins over the years! Late afternoon sunshine lit the moss-strewn river bed beautifully and cast shadows of the weir itself onto the swirling waters downstream.

In case you were wondering what is that cage like door ; it is a fence that is used to close the entrance to the area as this is a really old place for fishing and since it is not safe anymore ,they closed it down.

What amazed me is that people were climbing it and they still trying to capture fish there as if nothing was there !!!

I wish the composition was a bit different but I got scared by a group crazy cows coming at me and had to quickly get out of there soon after I took this...

Autumn arrives at Fall Creek in the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, in Santa Cruz, California. This is a 20 second exposure, with a circular polarizer to help knock down the glare and accentuate the colors.

This was taken during our port day on Santorini, Greece during last Fall's cruise. It was a surreal experience to stroll around this iconic village that day; the day that I experienced the epiphany that I want to give up practicing medicine some day and become a full-time travel photographer.

By getting right up to water's edge and using a polarizing filter I was able capture the magnificent lake-bed colours and shapes, seen through the calm, clear Lake Superior water

After hiking down 2 miles down into the Grand Canyon on the Bright Angel trail and returning back, my wife and I walked along the rim as the sun was starting to fade. We were both cold and exhausted, but with such a sight, how could we leave so quickly?

It's cold out there for our friends in the northern states today! Here's a beautiful winter scene captured by photographer Jan Schmidt-Wergifosse to warm you up. Jan captured this image with a Fujifilm X-T3, a Fujifilm 8-16mm f/2.8 ultra wide angle lens and our WonderPana filter holder. Jan used a WonderPana 145mm CPL filter and an ND1000 filter stacked to remove reflection from the lake ice and slow down the shutter speed to add motion blur to the clouds.
