A pile of logs sit by the trail at Dunk River. They are stacked as if ready for winter, though I suspect these are unlikely to be used in a hearth.

A late winter storm piled up thick drifts of heavy snow and remnant clouds break up along the contours of the Flatirons near Boulder, Colorado. A number of enterprising souls have hiked to the top of Two Tree Hill toward the right of the frame and carved their descent into the slope.
I'm not sure if there are any actual natural waterfalls on Prince Edward Island. Given the preponderance of flattish landscapes occasionally set off by low rounded hills, my inclination is to say, "not really." However, this spot at the end of the Dunk River Nature Trail, despite being a manmade barrier, does indeed offer up a small low energy variation on the theme.
I bought a circular polarizer, and i am quite sattisfied with it! the skies on my landscape photos would not be overexposed anymore! (i hope so)

...on a Sunday boat trip from Lucerne to Brunnen, canton of Schwyz.
This panorama was taken on the way from Vitznau to Beckenried. On the waterside, in the center of the image, is Gersau, in the canton of Schwyz.

Well, today a crew of us went to some waterfalls, It was myself, Wes (Bamawester), Brandon (Bamacanon), Cecil (Cecil Holmes), and my Dad Steve (Nwbama), We first hit up Caney Creek Falls, then made our way on over to turkey foot and mize mill falls, then from there shot a couple of the falls around the sipsey picnic area, and finally found ourselves at kinlock falls!
As you can see by comparing this shot to a previous one in my stream (here) from Turkey Foot Falls, this is a TON of water! The first words out of my mouth as i began to see the falls was simply, "WOW!" It was an incredible sight! It was a beautiful, perfect, overcast day, for shooting! I believe we all got some fabulous results!! :) One hundred faves! :D

Been wanting to shoot these beach grassland dunes, so I went for it on this day because the position of the clouds in the sky and the lighting were well suited for the subject. It was really cold with nasty wind gusts, so drafting the camera was essential and was a big factor in this angle.

this was captured a few days after the big Blizzard storm of 2011 in Montrose Harbor in the north side of the city....this elderly man i noticed was just walking back and forth by the harbor and when he finally decided to sit and stare at the skyline, it provided me the opportunity to comp this shot...i really like the shadow cast by the light pole and the curve of the edge of the harbor seawall....pls. Another day out hiking the Dunk River trails and a new series of fall photographs. However, where the last trip was characterized by the height of autumnal colours, a week later and many of the leaves have already fallen. Also, I switched cameras for this outing, taking the Canon EOS R and the RF24-105mm f/4.0 L instead of my old Olympus OM-D E-M1 with the M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro. In both cases, I used a circular polarizing filter for most of the shots but the colours are not quite as vibrant with the Canon. Take a look back through the photo-stream and let me know which interpretation you prefer.
Belstone Tor is one of my favourite locations to photograph on Dartmoor. With 360 degree views there is almost always something to shoot. Watch me capture this image and talk about some of the pressures of landscape photography in my latest video on my website: Feeling the Pressure of Landscape Photography

I headed out yesterday morning with my friend and fellow photographer @779hob for a spot of landscape photography up on Dartmoor. The conditions weren't ideal for photography but sometimes that doesn't matter. Read why and see the other image I captured by heading on over to the blog at: Love the Outdoors First
I made the 2 hour drive over to Youngstown, Ohio a few weeks ago to see Lanterman's Mill and falls before the autumn foliage blew off the trees. This shot was taken just before sunset, as I had to wait out the sun which was giving me some really brutal conditions before it dropped below the hill behind me. The mill is part of the Mill Creek Metroparks and is one of Mahoning County's most historic landmarks. Built in 1845-46 by German Lanterman and Samuel Kimberly, it was restored in 1982-85 and represents one of the many pioneer industries developed along Mill Creek. It operates today as it did in the 1800s, grinding corn, wheat, and buckwheat. If you follow me on Flickr and do the Facebook thing, then check out my Facebook photography page and give it a "Like".

In Canyon, along Pinehurst Road.
After posting the previous shot, taken on a ridge high above Canyon, I drove down this morning to see if it was as beautiful as I remembered and it definitely was! The land is all protected watershed though so there is no hiking on the canyon floor along San Leandro Creek. The Canyon post office and school are just beyond this point.

Yes, this is current as of 9/14/2018!
Both were taken in the Lansing, MI area. A few trees are starting to pop!
You're best off looking for young, or sickly trees that are somewhat stressed. You'll likely find more color in urban environments right now than out in the wilderness.
This tree is in the parking lot of my friend's photo studio!

I spent the weekend at North Shore of Lake Superior. It was raining on and off for most of the time. Somehow I found it is quite fun to set up in the rain although the cleaning afterward is not really that exciting.
This is 3 second exposure, with a little help from circular polarizer filter.

stitched from 9 shots at 17 mm in portrait mode. spans 150° horizontally, 45° vertically. The original is more than 13000 px wide and 3800 px tall. Taken from a cruising ship, so maybe not completely free of stitching errors.
Friends suggested that this could work well with a square crop. What do you think? Titled "Canyon Redwoods at Sunrise" in its original rectangular portrait version.

Another glorious comes to end when the sun "turns out the light" over the Grand Canyon! Fun-filled day of hiking into the canyon a bit. Hope to return at some point and get down even a little further. Enjoy!
