Chains breaking up. These I just caught! Only had about 1 minute from the time I realized what I was seeing until it was all over. These insects acually connect into chains. I nearly missed it. The images are just not very crisp but you can see what is going on.

This is one of the two docks of the Saugatuck Chain Ferry. You can see the chain which is attached to the ferry and the other dock.

Gold loops and link chain and whetstone with gold finial. The Treasure of Vettersfelde, Scythian, gold, c. 500 BC. Found in Witaszkowo, Poland. The Altes Mueum, Berlin, Germany. Copyright 2014, James A. Glazier. Probably made by a Greek goldsmith for a Scythian patron.
