Thursford Castle was a workhouse, then a hospital, and then a Civil Defense building. Most of it is now demolished, with just the chapel standing.

chain was just 18K km old but it was almost done. Noticed that around arctic circle, but continued to north with that chain. And replaced after 4000 km.
Gernot Sarasin was a passionate hunter. All the splendid specimens that he proudly displayed on his newest necklace, he had shot himself. Yet, and this remained a fact he was slightly embarrassed about, there was one last piece missing, to complete his chain of trophies. So Gernot Sarasin saw no other way but to use the Swiss cow’s rear –a terrible fight for life and death – as well.
Dinner was to be served in a few minutes. Gernot twirled his dashing moustache one last time. The ladies of the high-society would devotedly be hanging on every single word of his tales of all the fantastic prowls he had been on. Should one of them dare make a short-witted remark about the Swiss backside, he would take her along on his next prowl. His mother-in-law Lora – the charming lady, flanked by two polar bears– has very much enjoyed it herself at the time.

When you replace a cassette, you need to replace the chain as well. That requires removing the old chain. Here, I've clasped the chain in order to remove a pin.

Writing Master Thesis feels exactly like being chained. In fact this picture was taken when I was being lazy and having big break from my thesis work. I was fishing. It was the 1st time in my life, so I was not very successful, but I caught some plastic bag and mussel shell xD
And of course it was an awesome day! :)
My first autumn project is a chestnut chain. I collected some chestnuts, drilled some holes into them and beaded them on a bast. This was a realy simple project.

Initial reaction:
Something tells me the bolt is too short. All in all, I feel this device is a tad delicate. The accuracy of the set screw seems a little off. We'll see—first impression isn't always the best.
Chain of Rocks Bridge from the Illinois side of the Mississippi River. The Bridge was the route used by U.S. Route 66 to cross over the Mississippi. Its most notable feature is a 22-degree bend occurring at the middle of the crossing, necessary for navigation on the river. Originally a motor route, it now carries walking and biking trails over the river. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
