Not quite golden, but yellow painted thick chains strung across bollards at the end of a carpark at the rear of a business premises.

shot with a fujifilm x-s10 and a xf18-135mm super zoom lens

The Hooded Merganser has caught a fish - I'm not sure exactly what - thought it might be a penpoint gunnel but it doesn't really look like the online photos and drawings I found. I'm sure the Hoodie didn't care, and the truth is neither do I.

Meanwhile, the fish appears to be taking one final look at the world before disappearing down the hatch. So it goes when you're not all that high on the food chain. Needless to say, I shot a burst. Strange that it took 17 years to determine which was the best shot. I guess I was too immature at age 60 to figure that out. (In reality, files tend to disappear into my back pages, and sometimes I forget to return to a given sequence to reassess. Better late than never, I guess.)

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out for another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk revealing your true self.

Only a person who risks is free

Are the chains of fear preventing you from taking

a necessary risk?

The Chain Bridge was the first permanent stone-bridge connecting Pest and Buda, and only the second permanent crossing on the whole length of the river Danube. The inauguration of the Chain Bridge took place on 20 November 1849.

At the end of World War II, retreating German troops blew up all bridges of Budapest, among them also the Chain Bridge on 18 January 1945. The bridge was destroyed nearly completely, only its pillars remained intact. The decision to rebuild it was made in the spring of 1947. The inhabitants of Budapest were finally able to repossess one of the most renowned buildings of the city on 20 November 1949, exactly hundred years after its initial inauguration.

Lockdown continues - how l ife has changed for us all but in order tro keep safe we all must obey! Hope everyone is keeping well in these difficult times.

Antique farming machinery has lasted the test off time.

“We do not reason about dogmas of faith, or ‘the mysteries.’ We seek rather to gain a direct existential grasp, a personal experience of the deepest truths of life and faith, finding ourselves in God’s truth.”

On Your Wavelength by Marcus Lyall

One from a quick drive out to Morecambe in the hope of a bit of a moody sunset. It clouded over well before the sun went down, but I donned my wellies and tramped out over the mud and sands, as the tide was well out.

There are a few old fishing boats here on the beach and I saw this boat with "Art" written on the side and some mannikins legs sticking out of the top.Someone with a sense of humour.

The old chain looked interesting as a lead in and I thought it was worthy of a shot. Whilst the sky did lack the sunset colour, the moody conditions certainly helped.
