The Chain Bridge over the Danuber River in Budapest, connecting the Buda and Pest portions of the city separated by the Danube River

And an unusual and very welcome hit of color on the Copenhagen bicycle lanes.

Each wheel has a chain drive. He says he gets about a 30 mile range with these batteries, but he's not worried about wearing them out like I am. The vehicle is fully street legal.

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge (Hungarian: Széchenyi lánchíd, Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈseːt͡ʃeːɲi ˈlaːnt͡shiːd]) is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark and built by the Scottish engineer Adam Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Hungary. It was opened in 1849.

It is anchored on the Pest side of the river to Széchenyi (formerly Roosevelt) Square, adjacent to the Gresham Palace and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and on the Buda side to Adam Clark Square, near the Zero Kilometre Stone and the lower end of the Castle Hill Funicular, leading to Buda Castle.

The bridge has the name of István Széchenyi, a major supporter of its construction, attached to it, but is most commonly known as the "Chain Bridge". At the time of its construction, it was regarded as one of the modern world's engineering wonders.[citation needed] It has asserted an enormous significance in the country's economic, social and cultural life, much as the Brooklyn Bridge has in New York and United States of America.[citation needed] Its decorations made of cast iron, and its construction, radiating calm dignity and balance, have elevated the Chain Bridge to a high stature in Europe.[citation needed]

It became a symbol of advancement, national awakening, and the linkage between East and West

The Chain Bridge was the first permanent stone-bridge connecting Pest and Buda, and only the second permanent crossing on the whole length of the river Danube.

A simple pic with 3 of 5 elements in chinese metaphysical studies present, namely metal chain, wood and earth (blurred leaves on ground).

The sharp edges and squarish nature of the wood is contrasted with the smoother shape of the chain.

Sterling silver pendant on a sterling silver ball chain.

I took this picture few weeks ago at Hoag hospital where i go every week and volunteer.

-Fencing

-I used a 50 mm lens with a 1.8 f to get only some of the chain in focus, than in lightroom I made the photo black and white, than added texture to it.

-Value, texture

-I like all the texture the photo has and how the black and white enhances that.

This represents how I feel right now--chained by depression.

This was a great find. The rusty crusty chain, a valuable piece for someone, was securely locked to the fence.

chain piecing was a time saver while piecing the qtrs together!

feeling chained...

about doing this 365. running around trying to find things I want to photograph. Mostly I'm feeling chained by the weather, which keeps me from finding things I WANT to photograph. I do not like winter. I do not like the colors blah. I don't like endless cloudy days. Makes it really hard to find things interesting for me.... I know others find interesting things about winter.... I just have a mental block. I cannot WAIT until spring... life, color, rain, splashes....
